i wouldn't have wanted to be in thad's defensive drills the next day

     my high school baseball coach-if anyone came to practice in shorts on one of those rare, warm wisconsin april afternoons-sliding practice in the parking lot-happened only once ;)

You had sliding practice in a parking lot?  Really?  Even if you wore pants on that particular day, I don't think it would have helped.

I'm curious to know what happened on the play.

Did the guy score? Did he pass to an open teammate who scored? Did he throw a bad pass for a turnover? Did he miss? Did he get his shot blocked by a help defender?

right, but if we wore pants, sliding practice was on the grass instead of parking lot.  needless to say, if we saw someone coming out in shorts, we took care of it before he got to the field.  remember, it only happened once.

            no one called police, pricipal, administrator, or mommy and daddy either- and look how emotionally scarred we all turned out-EH'NA

There are many ways for a coach to make a point, but that one's just plain stupid.

damn right-it hurt.  guess who didn't wear shorts to practice anymore?  one thing however-perspective-this was in 1975-that was some old school chit.  i think leave it to beaver and gilligan's island was still on prime time.  now it's baby momas and 2 broke beaches

It just keeps getting "better" for Tate.  Apparently, that was a season ending floor slap.

Tate got called for a reaching foul as Webster blew by him.  Webster made both free throws.
