With MLB's All-Star Game coming up on Tuesday and knowing TC's close personal relationship with NL Manager Tony LaRussa, what role if any, do you see Tom having in San Francisco? Will he throw out the first pitch? Interivew players for TV? Be Tony's lead strategist? Drive the bullpen cart? Sing the National Anthem?

I agree that Crean does love the limelight and makes sure he is often in front of the camera... but at the same time, he's a great marketer and really knows what he is doing.  Any involvement he would have in the ASG would be excellent for the University since it would put our coach on a national stage.  It could only help recruiting, correct?  It most certainly couldn't hurt.

That being said, this post only exemplifies the fact that you try to make it A4EWAT, or, All 4EverWarriors All the Time.  You are just as bad as you say Crean is with these ridiculous, nonsensical posts calling for attention.  However, when Crean does it, at least it has a chance of helping out our University.  When you do it, the purpose is self-serving.

I think bullpen car makes the most sense...if you follow my logic:

1) Coach Crean reportedly doesn't drink
2) TLR and his players are known to not exhibit much self control when it comes to drinking and driving
3) May be able to drive Francisco Cordero into the game
My handle is Schoolyard but I do my best work at Finley Dunnes...Joe Kenny in '08

4ever is right. I'm sure any university would hate to have its coach get positive recognition on a national stage.

While he's in San Francisco, will you be mowing his lawn or is next week your off week?

Coach Crean will be in McCovey's cove retrieving baseballs during the HR hitting contest.  No boat, he will simply walk on the water.

Yeah, you know, because Al McGuire wasn't one of the biggest self-promoters in the history of college basketball........... ::)

I swear that Crean could discover the cure for cancer and some of you would be whining that it was a ploy for him to be able to tan year-round without fear of melanoma.

I'll have my co-workers say hello.  We have three in the cove tomorrow night in kayaks doing a little gorilla marketing.
