If the University already has a short list, it's a shame they have to go through the dog and pony show of hiring a search firm to demonstrate that they have done their due diligence.

It's a six-figure waste of money.

as I picked up on this topic and scrolled down(for a change) this was exactly what was going thru my mind as well.

remind them that craigslist is free...$25 for healthcare ;)

Old LGA was absurd.  Literally felt like a set of a movie set in 70s NYC, expected to see older style Taxis outside.  Speaking of DCA, IAD is also pretty dumpy.  Parts are fine, but the lower ceilings and color scheme make it seem dingy.  DFW has nice parts, other parts stink.  I actually rather like IAH now that I connect there more after moving South.  Its huge, but its airy and well laid out.

Unrelated to airports, I know Chick and Glow, but any other Southwest regulars here?  Read an article about how they are looking into changing some of their boarding/seating situations.  A decent amount has been made about the abuse of preboarding groups.  Seems everyone I talk to has a story about being in the A boarding group and still having 25-30 people boarding before them.  I recently flew SW to NY due to a scheduling emergency, during boarding there were 7 or 8 wheelchairs for disabled folks boarding early.  By some in air miracle...only one person needed a wheelchair to disembark!

Its certainly not to shame or discredit the truly disable and fully understand that not every disability is easily seen, but rather the unfortunate tendency for many people to take advantage of lax policies.  Hell on that same flight, in front of us in the  boarding with families with small children group, there was a girl being held by her father that was close to double my son's size and he's 19 months old and at the 97th percentile for height.  She was most likely in kindergarten.  Again, on most flights, who cares, but when seating is first come first serve...

excellent observations here wags.  I fly swa essentially exclusively and your viewpoint is mine exactly.  although i've had very very few and minor issues with swa, the ONE that really pisses me off is what you describe here and i've told them multiple times.

one of their most recent issues however has been dealing with the horizontally challenged.  they seem to have catered to "these people" by allowing them to take up as much room as they want without regard for those who also paid for their "space"  I am not criticizing those who have more BMI for whatever reason, just pay your fair(fare) share, that's all.

I've probably flown swa hundreds of times with very few delays and no cancellations, but they do need to vet out this disability thing a little bit.  if they need to cater to these and families with small children, board them after the A's at least, if not the B's as well.  you will probably see fewer taking advantage. and btw, haven't seen any comfort clydesdales recently

Yeah, and he gave the most backward ass speech of all time.  Of all time.  It was so f^cked up.  It was terrible.

yeah, I know and reeeko only gave it a 1 out of 10 and that's only because he likes dudes in beards who can kick 50 yard field goals.

Reasonable takes are unwanted here. Everyone else prefers to make this about politics somehow. It’s what we’ve become.

You would never, though.
