I'm watching the Andre the Giant documentary.  I think the director is the same guy who did The Last Dance.  It's really good if you haven't seen it.  He's before my time but of course have heard some legendary stories.  Anyway it fascinating but pretty sad at the same time.

Saw Andre fight The Sheik in The Lansing Civic Center. The place was full and he chased The Sheik into the stands.

Saw him once on a flight. He had to buy two seats he was so big , was nice and friendly to everyone on board.

He comes across as a super nice man.  I know wrestling is fake but it still takes a toll on your body.  Obviously if he wanted to he could have stomped these other people like grapes but according to the film "he never hurt anybody but you knew when he was mad".  Not exactly a person that I would want to irritate Herman.  Schwarzenegger said Andre once picked him over his head like he was a infant.  The man was incredibly strong and not to be trifled with.  :)

Andre the Giant was a notorious partier and drank a lot.  Funniest story in documentary is flipping over guys' car who messed with him at the bar.  The story that wasn't told was when he took a dump on Bad News Brown in the ring.

When reheating something in the toaster over/oven, in this case half of a sub, do you put the food in as soon as you turn on the oven or wait until the oven is done preheating?

Just blew my wife's mind by putting the food in at the same time I turned on the oven like I violated some major social norm.

Appreciate the recommendation.  I’ve been on a doc kick lately.

Our oven in college had a door that didn't shut all the way.  turned the oven on, threw in a frozen pizza and the thing was done in 12 minutes flat.  Cooked to perfection every time.

Not to mention the accumulated toxic ingredients in the Pizza
Once read a Mother Earth News article on the ingredients of a frozen banana cream pie: one of the preservatives was a poison! Of course they then included its  antidote in the recipe.

For reheating something, you don't need to preheat. You don't even need to preheat if it is something that bakes for a long time, like a roast or a meatloaf.

Cookies or other pastry, yeah, preheat that thing. A consistent temperature is key to their success.
Have some patience, FFS.

He must be paying for these dates or he could have bought his own gifts.
