They closed the one down near my house .. 7-8 years ago.   I wish it was replaced with a White Castle.

Anyone remember Arthur Treacher’s Fish & Chips? There was one near my house in HS and I loved that place. It was where I discovered malt vinegar...and that there is no such thing as too much grease for a high school kid.

I googled them and they are down to six stores in NY and OH, after having over 800 in the 70s.  :(

There were 2 or 3 in greater MKE when I was in grade school and high school. Believe they have been closed for over 25 years. Went there quite a bit back in the day.

Yep. I grew up a few blocks from the Menomonee Falls location, and I once saw one a little bit West of the MU campus on 27th St. near Clybourn. Greasy as hell, but great fish...

Grew up 3 blocks from one in Detroit. No longer there but do remember going there as a young lad.

Never been, but my wife had been to the one near the U. She says it's very good.

a dude from my h.s. class, both he and his wife spent their wedding night in jail over a little family disagreement.  believe it or not, they are still married today.  like that first dent in your new car-might as well get it out of the way

Maybe they reached the (logical) conclusion that nobody else would have them.

When I worked at Suburpia in the Falls we used to trade employee meals with employees at Arthur Treachers and Taco Bell. Everyone got discounted meals and got tired of the same thing.

Man, I practically lived at those places in my middle and high school years. All just a few minutes' walk from home....

It's great.  Best fast food chicken I have ever had.  They serve this amazing Texas toast with it.

Have some patience, FFS.

Suburpia was an obsession back in the day including that one on the corner in the falls. I recently went into one of the reincarnated ones and thought what the hell was I thinking. Disgusting greasy overseasoned overstuffed sandwich

Haven't been to the new ones yet, but your comments are consistent with what I've heard before. Not surprising, but a shame.

Do you remember when the Four Corners Suburpia closed and reopened as a mom and pop place called Sammy's? Not nearly as good, but I hung out there often because it was a short walk from North HS and had a foosball table.

yes absolutely. sammys was ok but not at the same level. At one point that location was a flower store not sure it still is. I can't figure out if the suburpia recipe changed or my taste buds changed.
