In 20+ years of family travel on Southwest, that's never happened to us. Family Boarding is after group B so it's never an issue. There are a few times when I have witnessed a flight attendant bribe a passenger with free drinks to move so a honeymooning couple could sit together, but really, anyone who checks in at the 24-hour mark has no problem whatsoever in sitting together.

Good to hear.

ND sucks.

And just to correct chick's typo, Family boarding is between group A and B.  The typical SWA 700 series is 137 seats while the larger 800 series hold 175.  Each boarding group is 60 (max, as A 1-15 is rarely full).  So ANY family with young kids will board no worse than the 43rd percentile (34th for an 800).  There will be multiple open rows and/or pairs together when they start down the plane's aisle, especially if they head aft.

Bottom line, families with young kids sit together assuming they arrive at the gate in time.

Yeah, and free views of folks' butt crack as they jockey for limited bin space on that cattle car, hey?

Truthfully for-never, it's MUCH worse on the legacy carriers in coach simply because cheap travelers literally carry on EVERYTHING.  It is extremely rare that a late boarding SWA customer won't find room overhead for his roller-bag.  Now it may not be right above his seat but whatever.  If you're a C boarder, never pass open bin space for your bag and sit behind it.

Grain free!

Yep.  4Never is just salty because now that Southwest had to get rid of their peanuts, all of their complimentary snacks have gluten:  Pretzels. plane-shaped cookies, Lorna Dunes, wheat thins, Bellvita, Cheez-its, etc.

On any domestic flight (depending on the specific situation, red eyes excluded) my main goal is to limit the amount of terminal time to as little as possible vs seat or status.  The time in the tube is going to be cramped, filled with boarish people who think they are more important than you, PWT, families trying to manage, and airborne contagions.  The terminal is basically those same aspects X's 100 flights.

Get to the gate less than 10 min before boarding and limit connections to sub 30min and I don't care about my seat.

Side note.....grains are awesome (for me).  Whatever diet/exercise keeps you healthy and fit is good by me.

Assuming you're referring to the large estate gift to MUCN from Barbara Regan '59 announced a week back.  Wonderful legacy.

So at the UMBC game I was pissed at some d-bag who sat right in front of us and clamped this massive camera apparatus to the glass half-wall at the front of the upper deck.  It was right in our sightline.  I was going to say something to him,  but fortunately, he took everything down and left right after the start of the game.

Turns out he was taking a panoramic photo.  I got an email with ordering instructions:

D-bags are actually quite adept at taking clandestine pictures and selling them on the internet.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.
