Seriously, a Hershey's chocolate bar from Canada is sooooo much better than ones you buy here.  We always by them in Canada when fishing.

Our theory is Canadian bar might use real sugar v corn syrup for a sweetener.  Regardless, there is a big difference.

Homemade pizza

How inexpensively can this be done? Please provide ingredient suggestions (especially the crust and sauce).
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

So you began drinking this “Coke,” and started getting a mouthful of salt and olives?

Yeah - that might be playing a part.

Beats the hell out of chewing tobacco spit. I’m scarred for life.

I feel your pain. Once when we were in Amsterdam, our kids insisted on “Mexican.” Oof...

Candy is gross. Except chocolate candy which can be acceptable. This time of year I enjoy a chilled, not frozen, Fun Sized Snickers.

What about chocolate covered candy corn?

Kids in Amsterdam?  Either you have some really cool kids or your kids have some really lame parents.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

American chocolate is trash - they substitute vegetable oils for cocoa butter and use fillers like wax.  Once you eat European chocolate (Belgian, german, even Cadbury) you can't go back to Hershey bars.

Amsterdam was a stop on a trip from Paris to Bruges.

And our kids are pretty awesome. We took them many places when they were still living here, and since leaving for college they have traveled everywhere from Buenos Aires to Havana to Mumbai.

We spent a day in Brussels going from one chocolate shop to another. Awesome!

When I eat something that tastes awful while in a location that I cannot say "s&@t", my normal description is "it tastes like black licorice"

"had to"?  C'mon, man.  There are literally thousands of great restaurants in that town.

There's an Olive Garden not too far from our place in Vegas.  I always wondered who would actually go there.  Now I know.   ::)

Tell me about it.  -- Truth is, we were in Vegas from 3pm to 6am the next morning with an 8 year old.   I'm a fan of finding a restaurant and getting it done.   We often get caught up in the "well, let's just walk one more block and see if there's something better" syndrome.

PM me next time.  I promise you I can find you a great restaurant within a block of wherever you are - Strip, Downtown, Summerlin, etc.

Boboli thin crust (rub on olive oil to ensure it will be crispy), Boboli tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese. Mushrooms, onions, green peppers on her side, sausage and onions on mine. Cost for a large pizza is around $8.

Our mass produced chocolate is not good. However we have plenty of good chocolate. Vosges wins awards over Europeans consistently. Comparing Hershey to their brands is like comparing Coors Lite to award winning micro brews.

A boboli pizza is what we are having for dinner tonight.  Spinach and sundried tomatoes on my side.  She may just go cheese on hers.  Also put some shredded parmesan on there too.

Understood .. and we did have some exchanges about Vegas in a thread 2 years ago, I think it was about hotels.  Anyhoo .. lots of great restaurants, but they need(ed) to be kid friendly too.
