Wrong thread!

and furthermore, only take cheese advice from cheeseheads  >:(

Agreed! If you aren't willing to wear a foam wedge of cheese on your head in public, you have no business giving cheese advice!

Italian mozzarella isn't synonymous with DOP buffalo mozzarella; however, Costco does sell the latter in 4-packs.  It's costly, but it's 10,000% better.

Not sure of your definition of "Italian Mozzarella", but certainly "traditional Italian mozzarella" is from water buffalo. Are you objecting to the word "traditional" or something?

We agree, all else is crappity.

They don’t call it “Italian Mozzarella” in Italy; they call it Mozzarella di latte di bufala.  “Italian Mozzarella” is a term that Kraft and others use as a marketing gimmick most often because they throw in a few other “Italian style” cheeses in the bag.

Even “traditional” or “authentic” Italian mozzarella isn’t necessarily buffalo mozzarella... in the central parts of Italy, their mozzarella is made from sheep’s milk.

tl;dr........If it doesn’t say DOP, it’s not 100% buffalo mozzarella.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

I reported you to the mods.  "Traditional" is offensive.  You are the JayBee of mozzarella, sir!

If you are ever up in Wine Country, there is actually a Cheese Trail that is worth it on repeat trips. And, if you are  interested in learning about water buffalo mozzarella, I would highly recommend this tour (it is rustic but you are up close with these animals). Water Buffalo are incredibly complex and Audrey's story is quite amazing. Bring your own wine.

Bad news .. Japan Geocities is shutting down.   :'(

For you youngsters .. Mike Juno started Ring Out Ahoya on Geocities in 1999, which begot the SportsOnly.com site, which begot the Rivals site, which begot MUScoop.

So, it's kinda like Scoop's Great-grandfather just died, although all of them are pretty dead.

Back in the day, I only visited one school...so my list is:

1. Marquette

In more recent years with my daughters, the campus setting/aesthetic/feel would be something like:

1. Vanderbilt
2. Mizzou
3. Yale
4. Northwestern
5. Yale
6. Arizona State
7. Marquette
8. Minnesota
9. NYU

Before anyone debates #6, I will point out that my daughter was looking at Journalism schools, and ASU’s J-school is in downtown Phoenix, a few miles from the main Tempe campus. She ended up at Mizzou, which has a better J-school and a great campus. My other daughter went to MN, and had a terrific experience despite the blah campus.

I'm glad to hear you liked my neighborhood school, Yale.

Interesting.  I've been to a lot of campuses in both TX and around the country.  I don't like Baylor's campus, and Waco is complete crap.

On my list of top campuses, in no particular order.

Berry College
Cornell
Washington
UVa
UC-Santa Cruz
BYU
San Diego (largely because of the Immaculate Church)
Furman
Dartmouth (gorgeous in fall)
Yale (but New Haven is a craphole)

New Haven is not a craphole, how recent did you visit?

Over the last year my daughter has been on official tours of:
  • Marquette
  • Xavier
  • Cincinnati
  • Maryland
  • George Washington U
  • American U

and in the last 5 years I've walked/run through these campuses:
  • Yale (on a weekly basis)
  • UConn
  • Fairfield U
  • U of Hartford
  • Quinnipiac U
  • Wesleyan U
  • UW-Milwaukee
  • Georgetown
  • U of Virginia
  • Georgia Tech
  • College of Charleston
  • University of Tampa
  • University of Pittsburgh
  • Carnegie-Mellon
  • Saint Louis U
  • Louisville
  • U of Vermont
  • SCAD

I've been on more campuses, but not that recent.
It's so hard to rate as it depends on what you're looking for - urban, traditional campus, somewhere in-between - large school, moderate sized school, small school - be in a city, be in the suburbs or be in the stix.  Regardless, the blend of the above is going to make the campus unique.

This past weekend I saw that our nearest Arby’s closed. I feel responsible. I could have done so much more.

LET FREEDOM RING. (Unless someone is super-whiny about it).

I find croutons to be great. Was gonna have a basic super-girly salad tonight, but tossed on a couple of croutons. The bag is now almost gone and I'm probably 1,800 calories deep.

Bed time. This baseball game is making me sleepy. Go Rocks!
