How much do people here pay for haircuts? I go to a guy who charges $15, so I give him a twenty and I'm on my way. My spot before that was $14, including a quick shoulder rub (nh; all chicks working).

Sometimes I think it would be easier to just go bald like ZFB's chick.

My wife and kids think it's a midlife crisis, but I pretty much stopped getting haircuts two years ago. The only concession I've made is to go in once a year to get the ends trimmed.

By the way, I hope they're right about the "midlife" part, cuz that means I'll live to be 110.

If I have time to go to an actual barber, it's $20+$10 tip.

If I'm going to Cost Cuttets, Great Clips, it's usually $11-$14. Still same $10 tip.

There's a big difference in cut quality, but spending 45 minutes in the barber chair is frustrating.

Haircut, straight razor on the back of my neck, shampoo, conditioner, brief shoulder massage, $20 with a $10 tip.  I keep what is left of my hair short.     0's on the side, 5 across what is left of the top.

The guy takes 45 minutes! It's a great cut, best ever. After a quick 1 blade around the ears, everything is scissors, so that is slow. A 1 fade with scissors, cut the part in, trim the eyebrows, fade the sideburns.

Guy loves his craft.

Same question.  That post got me to wondering how long I could stay in my barber's chair before being forcibly removed.  It's well short of 45 minutes, I assure you.  Probably half that...tops.

I go to a small barbershop with about 4-5 fairly young barbers.  One is the son of the guy who cut my hair before that.  The price is $15, and I pay $20.

Unlimited visits and three free bourbons every time you go in?  Man, I'd put that to the test.  A beard trim before work every morning, and a quick hair trim on the way home?

A good salon haircut vs a barber is like the difference between an off the rack suit and a tailored one (note - i didn't state hand made).
