Lots of positives tonight.

Great to get to a hot start. Good to hold the heat check when Bucky made a little run late in the 1st half (and loved the soft 5fter from Theo in the lane when Markus had suddenly went bricky). Other freshman looking good. So glad to see the foot to the pedal throughout the 2nd half - a piece of intensity that was so often lacking last year - and Happ and Davison are dangerous enough that Bucky could have easily gotten back in it. I bemoaned the coaching for the second half slumps and lack of playing hard for 40 minutes last year. Tonight we played hard for 40, and that's on Wojo. Well done.

I expected a win here, but by 20 surpasses what I thought. Puts us a bit ahead of "on track" which feels great. But games like this are tough, can't help but feel a bit like Rachel.

@JonRothstein
Marquette beats Wisconsin by double-digits at the Kohl Center. Badgers are now 4-7 overall; worst start since the 1983-84 season.

I also loved seeing Davison sulk after every three pointer dropped on Becky.

I love Redbreast, and Green spot. Thinking of treating myself to the 21 year old Redbreast for the Holidays. Have you had it?

It's great, but I'm more partial to the Redbreast 15 at half the price (buy two!).

If you haven't had Yellow Spot it's the 12yr. I think a marked step up from the Green.

And if you're not ideologically adverse to Protestant Whiskey it's almost worth a plane ticket to come over and pick up a case of the Bushmills 12yr Distillery Reserve.

Defensive game plan and execution was outstanding. Hold teams to 63 and they aint gonna lose

In reality, talent-wise, UW is a low major + Happ.

Box score to peruse.

You know, I'm kind of tired of that Markus Howard kid being a drain on our 3pt %.
Wojo's seat has to at least be warm for that.

No.   Never been over there.   Used to go to the old Wisconsin forum on scout, but haven't even done that much in the last couple of years.

Credit to Matt. He played great. He made Happ work, Happ had a bunch of turnovers.

Played well but the difference between a team like wisconsin and say purdue is when we doubled purdue i think hit 6 threes in a row.  When we doubled today wisco either missed or in sone cases wouldnt even shoot.  They r alot wirse than i even imagined, onky game i watch wisky play each year n never imagined they were this terrible.

I think this is the first time I’ve ever posted online a text I sent to my daughter who is a sophomore at Madison but here goes...

“If you ever wanted to irrationally get back at me for something, start dating the Badger player Davidson. Otherwise, feel free to trip him when you pass him on the sidewalk.  Be careful, if you bump him he’ll probably go flailing into the street in the middle of traffic expecting a foul to be called!”

Not being a sports fan, she had to look him up and replied she would stick to the tripping.

It’s been a fun day all around.
