Finally watched the game from recording.  Definitely Heldt.

Rowsey and Howard had too many stupid mistakes despite great scoring, and they didn't play defense on Davison at all.

Without Heldt, MU still wins. Without Rowsey or Howard, we don’t.

Yeah, I don't get the Heldt votes.  He played good defense, but when he was left to guard Happ without help it didn't go so well.  It was strategic double teams that stopped Happ as much as anything.  Heldt played very well, but not at the level of our usual big three.

Heldt votes are from Heldt family members  or scoopers that hold effort over real value of performance. There really is no discussion on SOTG that would include Matt, unless trying to make a point.

Agree with Sultan, Warrior and Goose.- Heldt was solid, but no better than #4 in the SOTG contest. Rowsey is #1, IMO.

What are the scoop odds that someone other than the big 3 puts up a SOTG performance?

So how many SOTGs have been chosen that were not the leading or second leading scorer of the game?

So like, 3rd leading scorer?  Occasionally, usually double-double type performances.  I usually look at the box score, and go for the "best" line.  For WI that would have been Markus (to me), but Rowsey was so efficient in his scoring (only 20 min!), that it bumped him up in this case.  And the voting on this thread noMatta, I am known to buck the trend a couple times a year.

I was just going to type this same thing.  Can we just change these threads to highest score of the game aka HSOG.  Most posters only watch the ball during a game n then vote for high scorer.  Turns into kind of a silly thread

Perhaps this would be more up your alley:

How about we do a Goat of the Game when we lose?

GOTG can go to that one guy who failed to rotate over quickly enough on that one possession and swung the momentum against us and lost us the whole damn game.
Or maybe he can be that one towel boy, who, if you weren't so focused on the ball, you would have noticed failed to wipe the elbow during that one timeout, where Markus slipped and turned the ball over, causing us to lose the whole damn game.

Or, more likely, you can vote for that person, and then Rocky will override you and Wojo will "win" every GOTG.
