I'm going Rowsey. His stretch in the second half really helped stall any momentum UW had going. That was huge. Markus is a close second, partly for playing well, partly for shushing the crowd midway through the first half. It's cocky, but I live that on the road in Madison.

Heldt had a nice game, but Happ was still over his season average, so I don't know if Matt really slowed Happ down that much. I really thought Sam's help D was big today in throwing Happ off his game.

All in all, a great team game. And a nice game plan from Wojo. Credit to the coach on this one too.

Gotta go with Rowsey.

He drives me nuts with his drives, although he's been doing better lately (10 dimes last game).
I hated the technical, there was no need for it (sometimes there is). There was one time on a break that he fired away (and made) when Greg was wide open for the bunny, which I would have liked to see (likely flush).

Markus was Markus, Matty had a great game (should have been 5 for 5), but the fact of the matter is that I have noticed that the offense is not the same when Rowsey is on the bench. It makes me concerned about the PG dearth next year.

Give the Badgers credit, no fouls on Rowsey's shot fake today.

No clear cut guy.  Hard to give it to Rowsey because he only played 20 minutes because of foul trouble due to his dumb technical.  But he was money when he played.  Howard was his usual solid self which is really good.  Heldt solid D on Happ, but really had help.  Hauser his usual very good all around game.

I'd go:
1.  Howard
2.  Rowsey
3.  Hauser
4.  Heldt

Would not argue a whole lot with any of those choices.

Incorrect.  He got 'em once and hit all 3 free throws during his second half run.

WOJO

His defensive gameplan today to shut down Happ was great

This deserves more notice. We all get down on Wojo quite a bit after sewing some tough losses and consistent defensive lapses. We know our team's faults well enough so surely Wisconsin knows them too. However, we still absolutley controlled that game start to finish. We hit shots (which we need to do) but our defense was very good. Let's give Wojo some credit. His two best players are closer in size to your average middle-aged father than D1 basketball players. They have still competed every game this year.

Even if I hate it to give it to him bc first half dumbness he overcame the attempted rodent comeback almost by himself, Rowsey.
D SOTG goes to Matt / Hauser

Heldt had his arms out on D. He took up a ton of space in the middle. This won’t be measured by any stat. He was impressive with his defensive presence. Happ was intimidated when Matt covered the center of the lane.

Happ was intimated  when Matt covered the center of the lane.

A year ago, did you ever think you would be saying that?

Or that Mattie would be in charge of guarding an All-American center and have only two fouls for the game?
Have some patience, FFS.
