Marcus but kudos to Rousey for assists and generally playing in control with fewer turnovers. We need more of  this from Andrew as the season progresses.

You know it's a good night when Sam's 17/6/4 on 7-10 shooting and Rowsey's 10 assists can be so easily passed over for SOTG. Lots of positives tonight, and another huge yuuuge game from Howard. This was fun to watch. I would suggest we do this more often.

Markus - already bummed out that he's gone in 2 and a half years (*furiously knocking on wood he doesn't talk to the same Sodexo workers as Vander*)

Loved what I saw from Jamal tonight too.  He finished strong on multiple occasions, had that awesome block on Lamb to end the first half, grabbed some big boards, and played some nice D when called upon.  He and Elliott just keep making strides.

Absolutely.  Had that great low post move for a layup, rolled and Rowsey found him for a slam, and a very rare hook shot.
Some of that offense and not fouling on defense every single possession is about all I can hope for out of Theo in year 1.

It was great to see these flashes from Theo tonight. Maybe it's all finally clicking and we'll see more of this. Maybe there's some added pressure to perform with Froling coming in soon. Whatever the case, let's hope this is the Theo we get in conference play.

I feel like Wojo and company tried a bit more to get some bigs established. As you mention Harry's playing soon so getting our guards and wings accustomed to finding the bigs will only open things up more for our shooters. Theo is such a force. He's bigger than 5th year seniors out there. I have a lot of faith he's going to develop into quite the player.

Just got back from the game.  Can’t believe how Vermont hung that long but they made a lot of 3s.

1.  M2N. Phenomenal
2.  Wowsey. Most point guard-like game I’ve seen out of him. I was sitting courtside under the basket by the Warriors bench. On one play in the second half, AR drive the middle and dished to Jamal, who got the and one. Drew goes over and slaps five with a little guy in the first row across from the Warriors bench. Very cool to see. Wouldn’t have seen VB slap five on a teammate, let alone a kid.....

The Big 3 are all deserving, Markus most of all IMHO.

Legitimate question, how do you stop Markus' floater? It seems like the only defense is to foul or pray he misses.

Take out a shooter’s legs.  WSU was triple teaming the high pick on both MH and AR. They had the depth to beat them up and they tried.

This is exactly how I felt. Sam and Rowsey were very good, but impossible to argue with that effort from Markus. He's so good when he's dialed in. What impresses me are the aspects of his game he's improved. The driving and rebounding were both impressive tonight.

Markus clearly took the offseason to develop his counter moves when teams press him at the 3 point line. As a result, his 2FG% has spiked from 45% to 68%, leaving his eFG% virtually unchanged even with a drop in 3P% due to teams keying in on challenging him there. He's also cut his TO% in half. Extremely, extremely impressive.

Great points, EFR. Markus did what all great players do - use time available to work on specific things to help take his game to the next level.

That was one of my beefs with Haani. I thought for sure he would spend the summer of 2016 building on his fine freshman year and working on his glaring weaknesses. Instead, his weaknesses got weaker, and opposing coaches and players knew they only had to worry about him going left. Not to trash the young man, but it's a shame - as wasted potential always is.

With a limited sample size, I'd say Markus is Exhibit A for Wojo developing a player. Markus was great as a freshman, but is much better this year. He's done a great job diversifying his game. And FWIW he's also shooting 55.2% from three in his last three games.

We were commenting again last night about Matty and his free throws.  VERY solid.  Two implications. 1) When he has offensive opportunities, freakin' go for it and take the hit.  2) It's nice in EOG situations when essentially every guy on the floor for MU is 'dead eye' from the line, Matty included.

We were fortunate enough to have the wife's corporate tickets last night, so I was sitting just on the other side of the hoop from you and saw this moment too. The kid was grinning from ear to ear. Rowsey made his night. That's a version of Rowsey I could get used to having on the floor.

I don't know the circumstances, but before the Georgia game, there was a little kid on the floor during warmups shooting baskets with the team.  Andrew acted as his personal point guard, dishing him balls  and high fiving him whenever he made a shot.  It was adorable.

Matt spent all summer perfecting his half court shot.  After that, free throws look so close they're almost automatic.

Dunno.

How did ND's group not beat Ball State? How did Florida's group not beat Loyola? How did Kansas' group not beat Washington? Etc, etc, etc.

I mean, you'd think that a second team actually showed up for each of those games instead of just forfeiting to the favored home team. Some nerve!
