Bucky Basketball
« on: December 02, 2017, 08:20:35 PM »
3 - 5 start, in last place in the Big 10 (which means 14th place).  They were torched by tOSU today, just like their football team is getting torched this evening (has a school lost in both basketball and football to the same school on the same day before?)

Is Bucky as bad as they have looked so far? (I say yes)  Will they finish under .500 this year (I say yes as well).  Is Gard’s seat getting warm?  (Considering they were essentially forced to hire him becuase Bo could not keep it in his pants, how can it not?  He has them going backwards).

Are they at risk of becoming “just another” Big Ten basketball team, instead of an elite Big 10 basketball team? (I say definetly!)

Additional thoughts/comments?

This afternoon Bucky basketball lost to tOSU by 25 (83 - 57).  Will Bucky football lose by more than 25 to tOSU football this evening (down 14 as I write this)?

Yeah. Enjoy watching them struggle but it isn't very satisfying with our loss today.

This 2 game Pennsylvania road trip will tell us a lot about them.

I’ve seen what is happening to Bucky before ...

Bo = Al/Hank

Gard = Majerus

Joe Wolf = Diamond Stone

So Bucky is about where MU was around 1985/1986.

What’s next?  Many years in the wilderness for Bucky Basketball.  Then they hire Bruce Pearl to turn things around.  And provided he can keep his roster out of prison, they will be able to do be it around by 2025.

Pretty much this.

Anyhoo, what's the B1G doing playing conference games now?

Big Teen is following what the other low majors do as far as scheduling.

Isn't this because their conf tourney is one week early this year so they can play in NYC/MSG

Yes. And I do think UW isn’t very good but they’ll beat MU on Saturday.

Bucky has started their spiral back to mediocrity and irrelevance in basketball.   But the Kohl hole is still worth 15 points and Happ is still going hang 20 and 10 on MU.

Yes if Rowsey and Sam play like they did vs. Ga.

No if Rowsey, Sam and Markus all hit shots.

Possibly not if 2 of Rowsey, Sam and Markus are hitting.

Going into Kohl, I worry about cheap early fouls to one of our top 3 like we had against Georgia. Unless we shoot really well, I see Happ having his way inside.

I expect Heldt to play more inspired. Happ will prevail, but Heldt will do just enough surprise us.

I only watched a few minutes of the first half yesterday, but Happ flopped twice in about 5 minutes.  Got away with one of the two, which was a travesty.
If you think for one second that I am comparing the USA to China you have bumped your hard.

Teams have figured out that you can double Happ and likely won't get burned. I'm still not confident going into Saturday but I'm getting closer to predicting a win

Really need Howard to stay out of foul trouble. The first road game always has me a little nervous. They have a tough game at Temple tonight. The Bo Ryan farewell game.
