Must've change significantly the last handful of minutes. PC was up 51-46 when we got busy at work. Clearly took a turn from there.

Yeah it was kinda a fluke.

Minny was very sloppy and missed many open layups/dunks.

Second half they scored at will.

Providence doesn't have enough talented size to answer Murphy and even Lynch(when he wasn't in usual foul trouble).

Unless I'm missing someone here, 16-0 against hairy's and 0-3 against other high-major opponents so far.

Yeah, the only win that even caught my attention was Butler beating Princeton.  Is Princeton still any good?

I'd put them between top 90 and top 120 in the country.  Solid win but would be concerning if Butler lost

Sure. But the 0-3 came from 3 unranked Big East teams playing ranked opponents. SHU will smoke Indiana tonight, Creighton and Butler have a good shot against Northwestern and Maryland.

We'll know more in a few weeks.

For reference going forward – I found this from January 3 – entering last conference season.

Big East had an OOC record of 105-38, .734 win pct.

14 “top 50 wins”  (using KenPom rankings)
11 sub-100 losses

Top-50 wins (14): at Purdue (Villanova); vs. Wake Forest (Villanova and Xavier); vs. Notre Dame (Villanova); vs. Clemson (Xavier); vs. Northwestern (Butler); vs. Arizona (Butler); vs. Cincinnati (Butler); vs. Indiana (Butler); vs. Wisconsin (Creighton); vs. Cal (Seton Hall); vs. South Carolina (Seton Hall); vs. Oregon (Georgetown); vs. Rhode Island (Providence)

Sub-100 losses (11): vs. Old Dominion (St. John's); vs. Delaware State (St. John's); vs. LIU Brooklyn (St. John's); at Indiana State (Butler); vs. Stanford(Seton Hall); vs. Arkansas State (Georgetown); at Boston College (Providence); vs. Rutgers (DePaul); vs. UIC (DePaul); vs. Wyoming (DePaul); vs. Missouri State (DePaul)

Certainly no bad losses yet.  Need X and Depaul to take care of business to split the Gavitt games.
I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

We've already guaranteed a split at worst. Xavier, St. John's, Creighton, and Seton Hall all won. If DePaul wins, we win the challenge 5-3.

I would say not too bad so far.
BE is 22-4 with BT, PV, DP, MU losing to MD, MN, ND, and Purdue  all by double digits.

Those loses are all to decent teams and of course wish we could have won a couple more...will see after holiday tourney type games where we stand.

Wisconsin looked pretty good in that game.

If you say so. They shot 41% from the floor and 29% from deep and let X shoot 51% from the floor and 35% from deep. But they did hang in there until falling apart in the last three minutes. I thought Happ looked really good as always. But he really seems like he's that whole team.

Just pointing out that X and DePaul taking care of business would earn us 5-3 win, not a split.

this has probably been answered before...but how do they decide which teams participate and what match-ups occur?

The Big East is currently the top conference in RPI. It is early in the season so this ranking will bounce around a bit.
