Fortunately, Marquette has shown it can play excellent post defense...

Oh, Ethan Happ will absolutely eat us alive this year.  Book it.

If this game is close, we need to send in Cam to tackle Happ at the end of each half.

So what?? Let him have his...make everyone else beat them...can they do it?? I doubt it.

Um... We tried this in the Purdue game and you kept complaining that it was a bad gameplan...

Happ will have a field day. He did last year in the second and I expect more of the same when the game arrives.

Exactly, he ate Luke Fischer alive... No chance Heldt slows him down, and Theo will foul out trying, probably.

The Badger game will be interesting. We have no one who can stop Happ. That is just a statement of fact. But Happ's supporting cast is night and day worse from what he had last season.  Trice is qualtiy but not as good as Koenig was. Davison will be a player in a year or two. Iverson is solid. Pritzl is another Showalter. The rest? Very suspect so far.

Do you double Happ and make everyone else beat you? Or do you let Happ score twos and just run to the other side and make a three?

Vermont won a close one over Bradley in their preseason tournament. Very winnable tournament for them.

I double-team Happ and see what the others can do, at least some of the time.

What some might forget is that we had a HT lead last year because Luke helped get Happ in quick foul trouble. We don't have that kind of post presence now, nor do we have a slasher like JJJ who can take it to the rack and maybe draw a foul.

A quick look at the play-by-play last year also showed that Luke blocked one of Happ's early shots.

Double teaming the big guys from Purdue didn't work out so well

Different team. Idk why you keep saying this.

Purdue shot almost as good as we did from 3 last year. And they returned that group of shooters.

Purdue can shoot the 3 and had multiple very good bigs and experience everywhere.  Wisconsin is young in the backcourt.

Two bigs ate our bigs up.  Ethan Happ is better than either of those Purdue bigs.

He will eat our bigs alive... mercilessly.

That's all I'm saying.

I expect the same as every game MU plays at the Kohl Center.  Happ will sit most of the game due to foul trouble because the Badgers get called for a foul every time they so much as breathe on an MU player....wait, I might have that wrong.

I was unimpressed with VCU against North Florida but thought they played well tonight.

Judging from the "another shooting" thread, Chicos is back, circumventing another ban.

We all know the transitive property of basketball is not a thing.  But I'll throw this out there.  The Mount just beat North Florida.

We were up 36 on the mount before easing up and winning by 20.

VCU was tied or within a bucket of North Florida (can't remember)  with about 2 minutes left before a small run and hitting free throws gave them a 10 point win.

We got this.

VCU is a very athletic team, much like the Big East,  not very big but reminds me of MU teams under Buzz.  Matt again will have a problem, it might be all about the forwards
again.  Sam will be out quicked, so if MU wants to win it will need something from Cheatham and Sacar.  Another team that looks like a college team compared to MU's
physicality.  Virginia just was tougher, not sure MU can beat them.  They do press but I do not think it will bother MU.  They have a quick little guard that runs all over
the place, can not just let him get into the lane.  Close game.
