Mikal Bridges had his coming out performance as one of top players in the nation, scoring a career-high 28 points to lead No. 4 Villanova to an 88-72 victory over No. 12 Gonzaga in the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night.

Luwane Pipkins scored 30 points on 12-of-16 shooting on Saturday and Massachusetts rallied in the second half to beat Providence 72-63.


Angel Delgado had 14 points and 13 rebounds, and No. 19 Seton Hall continued its impressive start to the season with a 90-67 victory over Virginia Commonwealth in the Never Forget Tribute Classic at the Prudential Center on Saturday.

Myles Powell added 17 points .

Providence also needed OT to beat Brown and a 3 at the buzzer to beat Belmont by 1.  I picked the Friars as a negative surprise team in another thread.  I might be right.
