But it's better than most of the rest of his posts that are one of two things:

1.Unreadable
2. "Crean Sucks" which are clearly the most childish and assinine posts on the entire board.

+ 1 gazillion!  Thank you.

How can anyone get tired of hearing that Crean sucks?  He find any work yet?

I explained this years ago.

He doesn't want to. (Head Coach, that is, due to the terms of his I4 contract. He'd be paying I4 to coach). He'll be fine at some point.
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

Does anyone know how much he'll earn on such a contract?  Does it make it worthwhile for spending time in the D-League vs. going overseas?  Can it evolve into a 2 way contract or is it now NBA or bust?

Can always count on you to take a joke and insert a know-it-all perspective.  We all know you are the man, you have press passes for high school basketball, crystal bowl is a joke, etc...

I think anyone that reads this board regularly is well aware of his contract.

My gut is that he would also be willing to take something like the Gtown job if offered.  Ego trumps all...you should know that.

And not that anything cream says is true...but his thoughts from a sports illustrated interview:

"Crean also made it clear that he wants to coach again. And soon. He said he’d prefer to be on the sideline next season. He’d like a job where it’s possible to win a national title but made it clear that he’d study all the opportunities carefully."

Crean  will likely take any Big East/ ACC/Big Ten/Pac 12/ Big 12/SEC job he is offered.  Anything else would be on a case by case basis.

Kudo's to Blue. If he ends up landing a real contract with staying power, he really proves the American Dream is alive and cooking. I love people that gamble on themselves.

Be better with your material and you won't get a "know-it-all" response.

Best thing you can do is practice. Day after day. Toughest step is the first one. Good for you on taking the leap.

Quick recap:
avid1010 asks if Crean has gotten any work. I reply that, again, this has been explained -- he's not going to get a HC job this year. Not in his best interests.

avid1010 proclaims he's upset by my response. Says I don't need be a "know-it-all" because I reminded him that he's not taking a job this year.

Then follows up his whining to me with more of the same crap.. "well, uhh.. in March right after he was fired he said he'd like to coach again right away".

smh. It has nothing to do with me. You're just not understanding the situation.

And then this...

so crean is or isn't looking for a job for next year?

Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

The partially guaranteed contracts can really vary. They can be from a few thousand to close to a rookie minimum annual contract approaching $800,000 to a million.  I think the Celtics had 3-4 guys with partial guarantees of $25,000.

If he doesn't make the team he gets the minimum guarantee amount.   If he makes the team he is paid something near minimum salary for as long as he's on the team.   Once he has surpassed the guaranteed amount in salary he can be released with no further compensation from the team.

A European contract could bring $50,000 to $80,000 a month for a decent player.

People like to make lots of money for very little work.  Crean's current situation allows that.  Him coaching would not allow that.

i get that...i work around those situations very frequently in my profession.  people give up essentially free $$$ because a good situation arises and they don't want to risk that situation not being there a year from now.  what TC said in his interview makes sense to me...he wanted to coach right away at a championship level university.  those schools weren't interested.

as much as i despise the man...he isn't going to sit on his a$$.
