So are half court shots easier for D1 players than I realized?

Yes. Half court shots just standing there shooting them leisurely really aren't that incredible. Obviously in game with the clock winding down, defenders at least in the area, etc. they're very difficult. We used to play "lightning" from half court in grade school. I attribute that to now being able to make 3/10 if I can just stand at half court and hoist them up at my own pace.

Edit: I believe college courts are 10 feet longer than high school courts, so the extra 5 feet on a half court shot in the college/pro game is a more difficult shot.

Ners can attest to this, and that's why it's not ok to miss them.

Just drove by Homestead.  Saw two  La Lumiere School (Indiana) buses in the lot.  Saw one  last week for another event where I saw a group of tall Aussies getting off the bus at Panera.  These  Australian kids are sponsored by AUSA, an Australian group trying to get Aussies ( boys and girls ) basketball scholarships  at US colleges.  Harry Froling was part of AUSA.  In any event, La Lumiere certainly has a pipeline going by providing buses to AUSA for these events. They've had a number of Aussies there the last few years.

Oops, wrong thread.  should be in NY2LA thread.

Well that's the thing--Ners could take off from the 3 point line and dunk.  That's right, 3 point dunks, all day every day.
If you think for one second that I am comparing the USA to China you have bumped your hard.

My son is there this week.  Guys are hitting the shots all the time but as my son has pointed out Mon-Wed not the selected Ice Cream player.  My takeaway from this years camp is there is way more appearances by the team.  In past years it was only friday for autograph session.  If you have a son ages 5-12 this camp is a fantastic value.

When Riley was in camp, all the ice cream only went to him.  This seems more democratic.
