Makin homemade fish fry. Beer battered or just breaded?

Beer battered, but I gave up on the homemade. That fried smell sticks in the kitchen for days. Thankfully my neighborhood has a wealth of fish fry options.

Went to Sams club on Saturday.  They have ribeye for $9something a pound. Try finding prime rib for that price.

I make some of the greatest prime rib on this planet. Observe.

I had them do a six pound cut, tied. I cook mine on a Farberware indoor rotisserie.  I season the meat with garlic powder, black pepper, and lawry’s. As the roast cooks, keep adding layers of the spice mix.  When the roast is done, you will have a delightful crust of garlic.

Cook till an internal temp of 125. Remove and tent with foil.

Take drippings and add to a large sauce pan with Johnny’s Aujus concentrate.

Slice prime rib, and place slices of prime rib in hot au jus for the heathens who like
Prime Rib to taste like shoe leather.  For the rest of us, skip the au jus.

Rare prime rib; woooohooooo!

I'm a huge prime rib fan, Chili, but I think Costco has better meat than Sam's club.  Better even than Byerly's, and a third of the price.

We had a Sam's membership until the Costco opened up nearby.  After a few months of overlap to compare the two, we dropped Sam's.  Costco's meats and produce are incredible deals.  And the gas is far and away the best deal in town.

For some reason prime rib by me is often on sale.  Near holidays you can almost always get it for $6 a lb.  My recipe is fairly similar to yours, but unfortunately I don't have the rotisserie like you do.

Your description of the end result is making my mouth water.

Molly is a “pro eater”, adept at slamming mass quantities of the prime rib. Says she was visiting family in Minnesota on the way through MKE. Kin?

Needed a quick drive thru lunch today. Options were Wendy's or Arby's.

This thread took me to Arby's.

Got the Deep Fried Turkey Club, and god damnit I was satisfied. Nice bun, Turkey was think sliced, but still had some moisture and the bacon wasnt horrid fast food bacon. I even had a normal bowel movement afterwards.

The normal BM is key. If you can eat that stuff and not crap your pants 30 min later you're set.

The author -- who despises red delicious apples and calls their texture 'chalky' -- notes that mayonnaise is disgusting. He believes there to be a Great Mayonnaise Conspiracy.

Agree - like pumpkin picking you can go commercial or nostalgic.  if you have kids expect to spend more than you think and enjoy it.  if you don't have kids put a little something extra in your lemonade and enjoy it.

As a family, it can be a great time if the weather isn't too cold.

Just don't pick any Red Delicious.

While we await that...I'm heading to the orchard for some fresh Honeycrisps this weekend, and also picking up a few other varieties for some pies.
