"Show me the money"

I was fiddling around on Youtube last night and I watched that entire scene for the first time since I watched the whole movie 20 years ago.  Incredibly funny.  Before Tom Cruise got too strange he really was a good actor.

Pretty much every word out of Dennis Farina's mouth in Midnight Run

"Is this moron number 1?  Put moron number 2 on the phone."

"Sidney, sit down, relax.  Have a sandwich.  Drink a glass of milk, do some f'ing thing."

"Don't say a word to me, Sidney, don't say a f'ing word.  I'll bury this telephone in your head."

"You and that other dummy better start getting more personally involved in your work, or I'm gonna stab you through the heart with a f'ing pencil"

And my favorite from Robert DeNiro

"Here come two words for you: Shut the f up."

Don't forget DeNiro  " i know you all of two minutes and already i don't like you"

A line, or a quote, is an exact phrase.  Being "inspired by" isn't the same.  Thanks for playing though. There are some wonderful parting gifts for you on your way out.

Yep.  He was great in Risky Business, Top Gun, Rain Man and Jerry Maguire.

I agree.  Let's ask the Computer.  When one Googles the line, "You talking to me quote", Taxi Driver comes up.  I already knew that was correct, but I appreciate you backing me up by suggesting using the computer to find the answer.

Guess they didn't teach the meaning of the word 'originate" (to have a specified beginning) at Trump U. If I google "Hound Dog" Elvis comes up but that's not where the song originated. If I google "Respect", Aretha comes up, but ...... Get the concept?

That is the only word you need to know to be a successful screen writer today.

The F-bomb aside, that line and the 2004 film from which it came, Sideways, had a profound impact on sales of merlot and pinot noir.  I think it at least temporarily depressed the merlot market and significantly increased the popularity of pinot noir.

"In Italy for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, bloodshed - but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love. And in 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock. So long, Holly."
