Edit: nevermind. I took this as "what is your Rec league game most similar to" and not "what is your posting most similar to player style."

Ners == Derrick Wilson.

Got plenty of opportunity to prove his positive benefit to the board but ultimately just couldn't contribute at a significant rate.

Jake Thomas... Can't create my own shot, but will occasionally hit a few in a row to make people think I can play.

I'm Rick Majerus ... the sh*tiest player Al McGuire ever saw.

And 20 years later he was taking sh*ts in a towel, similar to most of my posts.

mixinawilson = Trend Blackledge.  Doesn't show up often, but when he does it's memorable, whether for something bad or for something good.

Chicos/Hoopaloop/Others = Mo Acker.  "Transfers" but just keeps showing back up.

I think he's got more Toddler in him.  More about the look good, play good style of play, and was given every opportunity to prove he had "figured it out" but could never get right.

Al Davis= the anti- Rob Frozena.

When Rob was in the game you knew we won. When AD is here, you know we've lost.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

If there was a way for me to do so without John Malkoviching Titan, I'd probably be the mascot.

ZFB would have to be ZFB... the greatest playa' MU has ever known.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Jay Bee
Dominic James was constantly criticized during his time at Marquette, similar to how Jay Bee always gets into contentious debates in the moment. Years later (thanks to Cadougan, Derrick) people only remember him fondly, similar to Jay Bee always pulling out his best takes years later. And of course, free throw percentage no matta.

Goose
George "Brute Force" Thompson is the forgotten legend of Marquette Hoops. The guy who helped start Al's legacy, who was here before the Final Fours and national titles. The guy the kids (myself included) today don't realize how good he was, to the point that when new players want to wear his same jersey number, even the coaches today forget the number has been retired.

Ners
Christian Haffner was a walk-on at Marquette who was a Division 5 All-State player in high school. He was really really good, just ask him. Of course, his contributions were so inane that many Scoopers won't realize the walk-on in the picture isn't even Christian Haffner.

mu_hilltopper
hilltopper keeps making it seem like he's about to abandon Marquette basketball, but like Chris Otule, every fall we come back and he's still managing the shop.

ChicosBailBonds
Reggie Smith's freshman year was promising, working his way into the starting lineup and looking like one for the future. Then he left and ended up with as many alma maters as the Bondsman, first going West (Kansas/UNLV) before coming back east (Indiana/Eastern Illinois). Both also seem to have had issues with Buzz.

brewcity77
Like Trend Blackledge, I'll occasionally throw down an absolute monster that grabs attention, but the rest of the time I'm just sort of here.

ChicosBailBonds
Chicos has been so problematic around here, he gets two. Todd Mayo, like Chicos, was given chance after chance to be a regular, contributing member. In the end, he burned the bridge, ran the ashes through a wood-chipper, and leapt into a volcano clutching them like Gollum falling into Mount Doom with the One Ring in hand.

Freeport Warrior
Like Lockett, his contributions may not always be obvious to the eye test or on the scoresheet, but they are critical when you look back. Just a good, solid contributor who makes the site better.
