West Virginia game

Here is a pretty nice write up on the mountaineers (written before the pounding by Harangoudy last night).

Should be an interesting game (the game is Sunday and not Saturday as some think) - I hope DJs ankle is alright.

This game worries me - I want a win here so bad!  I think it will be one of our tougher matches in the BEast.  One game at a time - so let's get a win here!
GO MARQUETTE!

The consensus seems to be that West Virginia will be a desperate/hungry team, and that it may be tough for us to overcome.  For me it seems like WVA is in the same position we were for our home opener against Syracuse last year.  We were coming off a beat down on the road in our opener (Providence).  The thought was that we wouldn't start 0-2 by losing to Syracuse.  We did lose to Syracuse, then got it going after that.

We're the Syracuse in this scenario.  However we're much better than last year's Syracuse team.  West Virginia is good, but not as good as our team was last year IMO.  I think it will be a 10 point win for us, maybe a bit more.  We haven't had a stinker since Chaminade.  I don't expect one tomorrow.  If we don't play well, we lose.  Otherwise it will be an impressive "W" in the standings.

The thing that I took from the article is that this game will feature to very different styles of play with their best players being a little taller than ours.  ND found a way to deal with them with muscle.  I was hoping people would have responded to this with how we are going to attack/defend this team.  I think our depth will be the reason that we win this one.  It should be interesting to see how this plays out.

I havent seen ruoff or alexander play, but they seem to be lean and tall.  I don't think they are necessarily slow.
Players in this size range that have offensive skills can do a lot of damage in college hoops.
