He seems like a real good offensive player just need him to improve his defense

Would fit right in with us then!

If true he'll fit in really well here.

There is an article linked in the recruiting thread where GE's HS coach talks about Greg being a defender first and foremost early in his career.  His offensive role has exploded this year.

Granted, most HS players need to improve their defensive technique when they get to college and I have no idea how GE's defensive fundamentals are.  But I found his coach's comments to be interesting.

Nowhere does it say that GE's defense is poor.   I expressed regret that in his highlight videos, we never see him play on-ball defense and that his role on his HS team is to block shots, which won't be his role at MU.    To extrapolate from that post that he is poor on defense is not fair to the young man.

This is a kid that had a late growth spurt.  A 6 foot guard is not what MU needs, add 3 inches and now he is 2 guard.  He has long arms that is for sure.  A little skinny
but so what,  Cain is skinny too.  Both need to add some weight, with only 11 players right now for next year, I do not see anybody redshirting unless a 12th player
is added in spring.  Eke as well.  When it comes to playing D,  he will just have to get stronger.  That will happen.  Froling has to re-shape his body, and the 3 above
as well.

Especialy when he's averaging 3 steals and 2 blocks.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

If MU lands Elliott, that would mean 3 players form Detroit in one recruiting class. Michigan State had the trio from Flint, MI that were dubbed the Flintsones back when Izzo won his national championship. If Elliott signs, we gotta come up with a cool nickname too. Motor City Madmen?

I mean, OK, maybe he's secretly a serial killer who's pulled the wool over our eyes with his good deeds and smooth jumper - Pakuni (on Markus Howard)

I think these players were also from Michigan
Rice
Polonoski (sp)
I think Crawford, but I might be wrong on that one.

Michael Sims, Kenny Rice, John Jimmerson (IIRC).    Chris Crawford was from Michigan.     Polonowski, Grimm.  (Second best big in Michigan in his year behind Paul Davis who went to MSU.    Slight talent gap)   Brandon Bell was Charlie Bell's (Running mate to Mateen Cleeves on the Sparty NC team) little brother.   James Matthews..... took a swing at a coach before he played a single minute at MU, IIRC.   Another high character guy for Crean.

Cain, Eke, and Elliot are all legit.

Crawford had a nice career at MU.  Look at his 4 yr ascension, one of the most improved players i have seen over 4 yrs at MU.
Was also off to a very fine nba career until injuries derailed him.
Was also drafted by MLB and under the rules of tge times was a walk on at MU while his mlb team paid his tuition.

Detroit Exploits

Or how bout Detroit Rock City

Then we can explain that, in this sense, Rock means basketball, not music

The t-shirt sells itself

on front: Detroit Rock City
then on the back, in parentheses: ("Rock" meaning basketball, not music)

Navy blue shirt, gold font. Just put in a bulk order for 1,000 will let the board know when they arrive
