Would note SMU/Pitt not included in the 18-11 record; while we might be projected to win that game, the probabilities of the other games could mean a projection of either 19-11 or 18-12

Iirc, 40's for both Adj Ortg & adj Drtg

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Would that be our highest Drtg under Wojo? I feel like our defense has always been ranked mid 100s.

Both would be the best marks if they were season ending numbers.  Offense has been 116 & 155, defense has been 88 & 69.

Similar to us, they return virtually everyone but their best player. Theoretically, all that returning experience should be able to make up for Whiteheads departures. Their biggest question mark is point guard. Carrington is much better off the ball and may struggle running the point. They do bring in two transfer PGs but neither were very good at their last school and Seton Hall is a step up from Kansas state and wake forest.

They also have Georgetown taking a huge jump from last year

Us too. I think we finished what? 95th in Ken Pom last season? To jump 40 spots after losing your best player is significant.

Georgetown is another, lost their best player but return everyone else. Like us, they also bring in some really good transfers in Rodney Pryor and Jonathan Mulmore. Like the Hall, their question mark is PG. Trae Campbell is not a high major PG and Jonathan Mulmore will be transitioning from the juco level.

Looking at Big East Numbers, Butler, Georgetown, Creighton at 10-8, with us and Seton Hall at 9-9.  Not a lot of space between #3-7.

Can we sweep St. John's, Providence, DePaul and beat Butler, Georgetown, Creighton and Seton Hall at home?  That's 10 wins, puts us closer to the top and hopefully a tourney bid.

Defense.

#10th best in AdjD via KenPom last year.

Rodriguez & Sanogo get steals like crazy, Sanogo & Delgado block shots well, and Delgado gets it done on the defensive glass, too.

Why MU will not be in the post season yet again. Who is scheduling this mess? Such a joke.

Just gonna ignore the rest of the non-conference schedule with five top 70 teams, huh?

Luke's a 'proficient rebounder?!' Since when?

He is great on the offensive glass. Terrible on defense.

It's very interesting that they have JJJ taking a huge step back. I think Rowsey and Reinhardt are good, but they are not going to steal production from JJJ like that.

Agreed. I'd be shocked if JJJ is the team's fifth leading scorer as a senior.

What was more surprising to me was his projected average of 7.9. I added up the points projected for each teams' 7 players listed
Villanova 76.9
Butler 76.7
Xavier 73.6
Creighton 71.3
Georgetown 66.9
Seton Hall 65.7
DePaul 64.6
MU 63.5
St. John's 63.2
Providence 62.4
MU's number might make sense, if Wojo is really going to play 10 players. 3 more players at 4 points a game gets us to 75.5.

I'd be equally as shocked if Duane finished outside the top 7 in scoring, and averaged under 5 PPG. Gimme a break.
I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Yes. And no Markus?

I was frankly surprised, perhaps shocked by the SI player projections. Winn & Hanner are better than that, but especially Duane... nutso

1 whole game separating #3 (a good bet for the NCAA tournament) from #7 (on the outside looking in). That would make for a pretty exciting season, with the conference tournament seeds and at-large bids coming right down to the wire.

So, get hot, get lucky or otherwise find a way to win 1 game you weren't supposed to — and MU is in the mix for the postseason.

A 7th place and 9-9 BE isn't a lock to miss the tourney.
