Odds to win the 2016-17 NCAA Tournament championship
« on: August 16, 2016, 04:28:42 PM »
http://www.vegasinsider.com/college-basketball/odds/futures/

Duke is the early favorite at 4/1. Kentucky (8/1), Kansas (10/1) and Villanova (15/1) round out this Final Four.

After Nova, the odds for other Big East schools include:

Xavier 40/1
Seton Hall 70/1
Butler 125/1
Creighton 150/1
Georgetown 175/1
Marquette 250/1
Providence 300/1
St. John's 400/1
DePaul 500/1

I'm thinking we have a better chance than Butler, Creighton, and Georgetown for sure.  Probably on par with Seton Hall (but I think their odds are too high).

Move Butler back two spots and that's the exact rankings I have for the beast

It's way too early, of course. But it seems like 4th through 8th in the Big East could be incredibly competitive this season — there's not much separation at all.

Looks like we have a long way to go in the Wojo era. Really had hoped we would be further along. Not panicking but am disappointed.

I get what you're trying to say... But last year we were 300-1 with ellenson. This year we are 250-1 without. Also, it's pretty arbitrary at this point.

I am more disappointed in where we are in big picture. 300-1 or 250-1 both suck IMO.

That is a very intriguing point.  Wonder if mr. And Mrs. e have seen this, not that it really matters as their son is going to be collecting some serious coin over the next...years, but that's got to sting just a little bit

We got this.

How much you putting down to back that up?

Me, I'm not a better, but I'd have five bucks to spare for a 250/1 opportunity. Hell, I buy lottery tickets once its over $100m.

You know, I look around at all the other coaches that got hired the same summer as Wojo and I don't see anyone doing any better. I guess Wayne Tinkle got his son to come to Oregon State and get the Beavers a tournament berth. And Cuonzo Martin had a good season at Cal if you don't count the sexual harassment scandal. Of course, they both walked into a better situation than Wojo did.

We haven't even started year three yet. Let's at least give him this season to show us something. Just because we are staring as the preseason #7 in the Big East doesn't mean that's where we will end. Also, #7 in this year's Big East is still a top 50 team.

Hence the reason I didn't put my $10 down on MU at 250:1 this year.

Wm Hill didn't even have a line for MU back in April.  Probably still don't.

I did place $5 on SHU at 80:1... seems like the stock is rising there.

These odds provide absolute, unequivocal, unimpeachable proof that our program is going backward and Wojo must be fired today.

Technically, the opposite is true.  We've gone from 300:1 to 250:1 in just a year's time.

Why not? Florida hired Billy Donovan in 2007 to replace departing coach Billy Donovan.

No, because if Wojo was any good, we'd be favored to win the national title.
