Nice MU Shout-out
« on: July 29, 2016, 06:23:36 PM »
Thanks D-Wade

"I've known him since Marquette," Wade said of Butler, who also played for the Golden Eagles. "I have tremendous respect for him. This would not have happened if it hadn't been for Jimmy Butler. That was huge.

Wade had an awkward moment in his presser today where he called Miami and Chicagoe two cities he called home and then said he stopped in Milwaukee "for a brief second."

Can't fault him for that.  Only 3ish years in MKE, and the rest of his life in the other two.

Yes, BUT, it makes it look like he's forgetting where he came from though, Ayn'a?  Guess we are the uncle Pervy no one wants to talk about anymore

Okay, maybe I'm listening through Ring Out Ahoya hearing aids (think blue and gold glasses, I don't really wear hearing aids) but do you EVER hear other players drop in mentions of their university during interviews?  It seems like MU guys work in mentions pretty often.

I like it!

Agreed.  And now to hear 'From Marquette University!' twice every night at the UC during intros will be fantastic.  Dwayne and JFB have a great love for their university.  I'm confident we can expect them to be on campus quite regularly.

Hopefully Dwyane, too!

Agree, I like the fact that he at least gave MKE a shout out.

I was wondering, are they going to announce him in intro's as being from Marquette, or "from Chicago..."?

How did they intro Rose, who had only one year at Memphis between his pro career and his lifetime in Chicago?

I seriously can't remember, but if I had to guess it wasn't, "From Chicago."

It was always from Chicago for Rose.

Correct.  But with all of Rose's college 'issues' and his one/done to mention Memphis might sound a little silly.  I'd anticipate both Jimmy and Dwyane would maintain the college tradition.

D Wade and Butler are proud of Marquette connection and will probably request that .
Winning is overrated. The only time it is really important is in surgery and war.
