It is going to be more difficult for Jamil to make an impression in the Summer League as it looks like he is not going to be getting maximum minutes.

He got 7:46 in the first half 0-1 shooting (missed a 3) and one board.

He has to make the most of his time on the floor.

Jamil barely getting any touches. Too many guys ball hogging on his team. He is hustling and playing good defense, boxing out etc .Hopefully the dirty work is valued.

I'm rooting for all the MU guys, too.

But Jamil is simply not an NBA player.

Vander is closer to being one than Jamil is. And Vander isn't, either.

One thing about the Lakers they love MU players. DJO has been there, Vander, Lazar, Bucyks, Jamil, Jerel, at one time or another....wow.

Totally agree on Jamil.  I could see Vander stick but if he doesn't make it this year he needs to go make money somewhere.

Jamil has strong tools but he does not show enough confidence on the court. It is a replay of what he was for us.

He needs to be able to create his own shot to become more of an offensive threat. Otherwise he
Just stands there waiting for someone to kick out to him for a three, which didn't happen in the first game. One problem
He has is that he is the sub for Brandon Ingram who is as
Good as advertised.

He did show quick hands deflecting passes etc. Jamil just
Has to keep grinding .

Let's hope the Laker MU connection helps.  Luke Walton was a lunch bucket player so he may value Jamil.

I think I understand what you mean by "lunch bucket player"...................and Jamil is certainly not one.

They love 'em for about 37 seconds.

Hell, hoopaloop lasts longer with Mrs. Chicos than most MU guys do with the Lakers!

Good highlight tape. Carefully listen to the audio at 13 second mark...

http://asingleword.sportsblog.com/posts/20613877/lakers-add-sharp-shooter-d-leaguer-jamil-wilson-to-summer-league-squad.html

Those D-League crowds are pathetic. Maybe the NBA should be giving the tickets away.

ESPN shamelessly promoting Ben Simmons. Summer League game with Lakers is on now on ESPN2. They are hyping the showdown with Brandon Ingram.   Will be interesting to see if Jamil matches up with him at all.

Agreed. He is having a lot of fun though. Thomas and Mack arena full of people and very loud.

The upside is he may turn it into a training camp deal and maybe get an attractive foreign offer.

Shamelessly promoting?

If they had any brains, they would want the Jamil / Vander matchup.

As long as he is having a good time, that's what's is important in the long run.

Looks like Vander ,and some of the other guys who were on second string, the first two games are not getting in tonights game. Hopefully he gets some run in the second half.

I do get the impression the team is working out quite a bit in addition to the games, so I am sure he is getting a fair shake.

Jamil had a relatively good night. Shot 4-6 2 out of 3 from 3 point range. He played solid defense and made quite a few deflections. His team was a bunch of ball hogging chuckers so he didn't get many touches . It seems his role is to play D and sit on the perimeter and take open 3s.

Although it was interesting that they put him in at the end when they were trying to win. Will be interesting to see if the coaches actually value the non scoring contributions he is making.

He did get burned a couple of times down the stretch by Kay Felder who is about 5-9, although he was not alone in that.

Seems like he is loose and having fun.

And hopefully this means he will be at the TBT
