perspective from Georgia on Marquette games
« on: May 16, 2016, 03:28:52 PM »
I am obviously thrilled to have MU schedule a game a couple of hours from me this season. I told some UGA boosters that we will try to ease up if it looks like another 100-70 blowout like our other meeting. Of course, I guess Jim Chones will not be playing this time.

Their perspective on the game is interesting. With Georgia young and rebuilding this year they felt like a home game would be their chance for a win - did not think the young guys could handle a hostile crowd. However, they believe they've got a tournament team in 2017 and want to take their chance on a big road victory then.

For what it's worth.

I'm surprised you found anybody who even knew they had a basketball team.

Yes, they should be fearful of the possibility of facing a hostile crowd of 10,000 empty seats with an 8:21 pm Tuesday night start in Milwaukee.

Playing in front of 8,000 people would be an exception to their schedule (sans UK).

HAHA, agreed! One of the realized $10k didn't get him in the lower level for football games but put him on the court for basketball :-)

SEC basketball generally sucks, except for Kentucky (ask any alum, they'll tell you), Florida and Vanderbilt.

I was hoping we would be getting the perspective from the country of Georgia.
