New Uniforms
« on: March 17, 2016, 08:53:22 AM »
After watching a lot of college ball this year, it has come to my attention that our uniforms are out of date.  We've had them for quite some time and while it was unique and cool when first rolled out, compared to the rest, they appear tired and almost juvenile.  in my opinion.

The question is... who would like to see Marquette unveil some new uni's for next year.  seeing how it's a big anniversary year.  feel free to post what you would like to see.  I'm sure someone from the athletic department actually looks at this site.

Kinda liked da plain, white tee shirts. Maybe they gotta earn a new look, hey?

Definitely. It's past time for a refresh. Too many college (and high school) teams use that "color blocks" look. I like the Bucks look. Fresh and clean. Strip away all the extra flourishes. And go with a bold font. I hate the current "Marquette" type treatment across the front of the jersey.

No. Worked nicely in the 70s, but that's where it should stay.

I'd like a return to the classic Wade-era uni.

I vote for a new jersey -- would love to see a portion of the Bumble Bee pattern incorporated -- maybe where the checkerboard is today.

New and crazy, that's our tradition, no tradition.  I would tell Jordan Brand to push the limits.  IMO, no one MU jersey should be loved but when grouped together you love the collage they create.  I would also put 2 year term limits on our uniforms.

I'd love to see some form of the bumblebees come back, even if it's as an alternate jersey. Definitely like to see a change next year.

+1 on the pushing the limits.  I don't think they need something new every 2 years but a refresh fairly often is a good idea if they are kinda crazy.

I hate our current uniforms so this was an easy vote for me.  No piping on the sides, or at least not the alternating, eye-sore we have now.

These are beautiful but I want something new. Time to start another trend.

I still like the piping. I could see reducing its presence, maybe use it in the edges near the collar and sleeves, but I've always liked that.

I like the current ones.  Look around college basketball and they're better than 95% of the ones out there.

It's been 10 years. It's time. They look a bit dated and way too busy (i.e., the side piping colors (?) should be larger so there are less of them and each color stands out more). The shoulder swipe things don't look anymore either.

...just don't boring Marquette.

Also, won't next year be the 100 year anniversary AND the 40th anniversary of the National Championship? Seems like good timing.

Might as well use it as a pre-honoring of our NC run next year too  ;D ;D

I like the format of our jerseys, but hate the skin tight style. Just a few years back they were much not loose fitting which I much prefer.

Wouldn't be opposed to new ones tho.
I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

It would be awesome if they could do a more modern version of this. Does any team have jerseys and shorts of different colors these days?
Have some patience, FFS.
