Wojo X Presser
« on: February 06, 2016, 03:17:25 PM »
Wojo's presser from today.  Some interesting comments about X and the conference.  He is as frustrated as Scoopers by the turnovers.  Thought it was MU's most physical game.

Better link?

Sumner will be better than Dunn.

Potentially, but Wojo said he can go pro and be an early pick right now.

Draft express has Sumner has 57th ranked freshman

I take all these mock drafts with a grain of salt. For example Draft Express does  not even have  Ben Bentil listed.

NBA draft .net has Sumner as  24th freshman. It has Henry at 19th this week in the mock.

I think it is better to go with your own assessment of watching a kid play. Sumner can play.

Yeah that kid can play.
The only thing worse than the NBA......is the NBA mock drafts.

I think Sumner is a better pro prospect than Ellenson.

Have you seen the kid's shot form?  Good luck ever getting a shot off from your hip in the NBA.  Also, how many 6'6", 160 lbs guys are there in the NBA?  Not many.

I'm not sure Sumner does a single thing better than Hank does.

Sumner is a year+ older than Henry; would want to check further into his history of tendinitis if I'm with an NBA team.

On an otherwise-great offensive team, Sumner has lacked.
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

The only thing I took away from the game that Wojo didn't mention was Xavier was sub-par in one respect - free throw shooting.

So, Jay Bee, do you think we're finally seeing some regression toward the mean for MU's free throw defense?  With Bluiett missing 3, and Davis missing 2, luck must have been in play.

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Yes. PS, here's some more on MU's "free throw defense"

Bluiett and Sumner are 2nd and 3rd worst when it comes to FTM's vs. expected based on their season-long FT%.

-- DE has Bentil as the #17 sophomore & 2nd round pick in 2017, just FYI.

-- I love sumner, he's been beyond impressive. Just haven't heard buzz about him being 1 & done.

I hope both Bentil & Sumner leave :)

The sample size might be small, but I think I'm more worried about Kelan Martin then either of those two, especially with Bentil not having Dunn as an opponent's primary focus.

Plus, what the hay, let's keep the best players in the conference and start the talk that the Big East is Da Best.
