OT - Pitino crap storm coming?

Presser at 1:30 with Rick & AD. Sounds like self imposed sanctions if not worse per Twitter.

Might just be an enhanced recruit entertainment plan.

Friday afternoon before the Super Bowl...  that might be the absolute best time to drop bad news.  Pitino is clearly a pro at this stuff.

Sucks for Damion Lee.

He had a lot of choices -- feels a little bit like we announced a self-imposed postseason ban 2 years ago...

And Trey Lewis. Both of those guys would have looked so good in Blue and Gold.

So does this mean Louisville fans finally admit that something happened? Most of them were pretty insistent that the whole thing was an IU or UK booster trying to screw them over.

Self-imposed bans are basically a plea bargain with the NCAA.

Don't go to a shady program and you wouldn't have to worry about that.

They were crying because they realized the Spring recruiting parties were likely being cancelled?

Don't go to a shady program and you wouldn't have to worry about that.

I was thinking about this. Supposedly this tactic of recruiting ended when Andre McGee left Louisville...but Antonio Blakeney, a 2015 recruit who visited after McGee left, is on record saying he and his dad received the "royal treatment." If it was still going on then, it wouldn't surprise me to learn that Lewis and Lee received similar perks only a few months later. If Lee and Lewis participated and then signed, I don't feel bad for them. They knew it was a dirty program and a risk of that is postseason bans.

If it truly ended before they were recruited and they didn't receive any improper benefits then I feel awful for them. Truly awful.

Also, it looks like we aren't the only school who schedules bad news pressers for Friday afternoons.

Gotta feel for those two.  Man, to think if we had Lee. Gahh.
I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Had they listened to their coach, they would have had those women in and out of there quick enough that nobody would have known.

I don't feel bad for them at all. They chose to play for a shady coach who runs shady programs. If a player elects to play for a coach like Pitino, Larry Brown, Kelvin Sampson, etc then they have to recognize that sanctions may eventually be a part of the deal. They took the risk and got burned.

So their program paid for prostitutes to party with and have sex with players within their program and underage recruits visiting the program and they self imposed a 1 year post season ban? Yeah, that right there is the definition of fair punishment.

I'm thinking jail time is a lot more fitting.

Yet, I'll just wait for the NCAA to champion Rick Pittino as the model of what we need in this game for "taking responsibility" for something going on in his program that he "had no knowledge of" and clap for the program, only to shut down some random little program for giving away 2 too many free tickets to a recruit's family visiting.
