They also have multiple players who played in the national championship last year. We don't need to define our team by how the UW Madison team performs, so can we please stop whining about them every time we lose a game?

They lost to us, at home.   Yes, they are playing better.  Good for them.  If they don't make it, knowing we were the reason why, would be touching.  How is Tara doing?

I'm kinda enjoying this, actually. Gard has them playing well, and when Barry makes an outside hire, the Platteville Posse's heads will explode.

And his choice at UNI is 13-11

And it took a 3-game winning streak to get them there. Must feel like an eternity since they knocked off #1 UNC.

Whoooooooo caaaaaares?

Marquette fans need to grow a pair.  Go buy some nasty UW crap at Kohl's and get it over with already.  Congrats to your new favorite team beating a 14-10 team at home, if that's what you came here to hear.

The only thing worth talking about in terms of Madison's basketball program is that they had to fire their coach for knocking up a mid-20s athletic department employee and putting pressure on her to end the living baby inside of her body.  She decided to make her own decision and BOner's wife left him.  That's the only thing worth talking about in that city as Marquette fans.

Look for a story by the end of the month.

The Big ten is not very good.  Most of the teams play slow ball.

The comparison to UW-Madison is getting old. While we constantly bash them and say the big ten is not good the numbers do not lie.

Since our final four run in 2003 the Badgers have won 22 NCAA tournament games while Marquette has won 9.  I get that they are our rival and it is our job to crap talk them but it just gets old being a homer all the time. A difference of 13 wins is night and day between programs.

9 of those have come in the past two seasons.

MU picked two really bad years to be down.

And marquette gained 3 on wisconsin the years prior. My point is it doesn't matter. I just don't understand why we need to constantly compare this team with Wisconsin. I just want this team to get to the tournament anything else is a plus. I hate having been out of the tournament for what looks like 3 years in a row.

The only Marquette v Wisconsin thing that matters to me this season is this:

Marquette 57, Wisconsin 55, right in Bucky's barn.

Otherwise, eff Bucky.

Feeling anxious, defeated, unappreciated, inadequate. Signs of either a serious psychological condition — or your average, everyday sports fan.

Remember that it's always darkest before the dawn. Last year was as close to pitch-black as I can remember. And I'm seeing signs of light on the horizon this season (I was at one of those bright spots with the outstanding win in the Kohl Center.)

I'd encourage doubters to embrace this team for what it is: incredibly talented and full of potential. That means better days are ahead, and you'll appreciate them all the more for the struggles of the past few seasons.

Good post. Two years ago we had an average senior laden team. They all left. Our recruits left. Our coach left. We were left with basically nothing. We were one of the worst power conference teams in America last year (tied for last in the Big East). This year, we've already won 2 more games than last year, equaled our conference win total, and we have 9 more guaranteed games to play.

We're in the middle of a complete overhaul. It doesn't happen overnight. Wisconsin was never in a rebuild. A bit of a down year after their two best years ever? Yes. But they returned 2 starters from a team that went to back to back final fours. One of those players is one of the best players in the Big Ten.

To compare the two situations is idiotic.

yes, rebuild re Wiscy is dumb. They returned Koenig and Hayes. Enough said.
