Who is headed there on Monday? Any NY Area Scoopers have tips for pre and/or post game refreshments?

I'll be there, heading over from Manhattan. The pregame bar for MU fans is Koelner BierHalle (KBH), located at 84 St. Marks Pl Brooklyn, NY 11217. I've never been there, but can detail a few places nearby that are also worth checking out:

The Smoke Joint - awesome bbq, great whiskey - there are a ton of other restaurants/bars around as well
Purbird - no alcohol, but amazing chicken and serious sides as well. Seriously, visit here for lunch
Die Stammkneipe - old german beer hall, cash only, has foosball, great place to have some good beer and just hang out

Other than those spots, don't have a whole ton of insight into the rest of that area.

Depending where you are staying, I would recommend elsewhere for post-game activities.

My wife and I will be there, driving all the way up from NC (with stopovers in Philly and Easton to see family and friends).

This reminds me that I haven't received anything official from MU yet -- including ticket pick-up info, gathering info, etc. They told me when I ordered the tix that they'd send something out a week in advance. If I don't hear from them by tomorrow, I guess I'll call them.

Hmmmm, I received an email two Fridays ago with those details. Pretty much all it said was tickets were held at will-call and KBH was the pregame spot and opens at 3pm.

'92 Grad and NYC metro area native here that has lived in Brooklyn Heights (about a mile from Barclays) for 12 years. Here are some recommendations. Most of these places are not in the immediate vicinity of Barclays but all within a 1.5 mile range....2-3 Subway stops or at most a 10 minute cab ride even in traffic. Here Goes:

High End
Henry's End or sister place Brooklyn Heights Wine Bar 2 doors down- Brooklyn Heights
Colonie - Brooklyn Heights
Jack the Horse Tavern- Brooklyn Heights
Al Di La Trattoria - Park Slope
Brucie - Cobble Hill

Mid Range
Frankies Spuntino - Carroll Gardens
Lucali (Pizza) - Carroll Gardens
Buttermilk Channel - Carroll Gardens
Pok Pok - Red Hook (A little further than some of the others but worth the trip)
Duck Goose - Gowanus
The Pines- Gowanus

Casual
Wilma Jean- Carroll Gardens
Henry Public - Brooklyn Heights
Pork Slope - Park Slope
Dinosaur BBQ - Park Slope
Fletcher's BBQ - Gowanus
Littleneck - Gowanus

I could go on for a while but these are all good bets or you could just walk along Smith Street. Tons of Restaurants bars there. Enjoy the big apple!

Wow! Metro North is much easier, as you can forget the paper bag. It's tradition to buy a tall boy at one of the shops or the snack cart for the ride home from NYC.
You should see the Yankee Clipper train on the way to a Yankee game. Taligate party on wheels.

I say go the game and get of of Dodge as fast as you can. There is only downside in Brooklyn. There are plenty of great places in Manhattan.

Why the hate on Brooklyn MU Fan in NY? 95% of violent crime there occurs in 2 police precincts..... neither of which are anywhere near Barclays or any of the places Disco mentioned. It's like saying don't go to Chicago because of all the problems there which is ridiculous because everyone knows they're limited to certain areas. You must not be a NYC area native. I'm staying in Brooklyn and plan to eat/drink in Brooklyn. I've been to NYC dozens of times but have never been to Brooklyn. I plan to enjoy myself to the fullest and learn about a place that will be new to me.

I will be going to one of the games in Brooklyn. Sticking with my logistics methodology though. Getting out as fast as I can. In my view and ,considerable experience ,Brooklyn is a place where everything seems nice , until it isn't . I know it is trendy and hipster now, and so do the crooks. As to the analogy of Chicago, in the bad old days of Cabrini Green a smart person did not venture far west of the Gold Coast . That is what Brooklyn is today. A small colonized area near some very tough areas. Remember , the NYC cops are no longer willing to get out of their squad cars and only do the minimum in the anti cop environment that exists.

Manhattan is much more safe and secure.

I just spent the evening wandering around Brooklyn, eating, and drinking. and I felt safer than my days at Marquette (yes, about 2 decades ago). Either you're living off old memories, or need to get around more.

We are definitely going to "Duck Goose" on Wed night. Thought "Boomwich" had really good sandwiches on Atlantic just down from Barclays Center. Also, Zenkichi was really good in Williamsburg.

I have heard that Derrick Wilson roams the streets looking to dispense punishment to those that have been critical of him in the past. Luckily his range to date has been contained to Brooklyn and Manhattan north of 95th street on the east side and north of 125th street on the west side.
