Bailey is more of a 2-3 than a 4 given how well he shoots. I think he will be fine.
So are Hauser and Cain.

So are Hauser and Cain.

Bailey will be two years behind Hauser and a year behind Cain.

Honestly, what do people want the staff to do? Only give out 8 scholarships so everyone can get 20+ mpg? The job of the staff is to add as many talented players as they can in diverse positions and classes. If Bailey has to fight for playing time, what's wrong with that? Honestly, other than the big man glut in 2017 (which is necessary) I am not sure the classes could be much better balanced.

One of the most impressive things about Wojo for me is that it seems there's a place for everyone he's recruited. Battles for PT should be fierce. I'd rather have that than be handing out starting spots to guys like Derrick and Jake, or hoping our two star recruit is a diamond in the rough.

I really think Bailey is a 2, pretty skinny right now, much like Reggie Miller.  I hope he does not play the 3.  Cain and Hauser I see at the 3,  Tillman, Eke, John and
Heldt for the other 2 inside spots.  Tillman might play the center position with John, best man wins in the future with Joey and Sam at the forwards.  It will be very
interesting if Tillman comes. Would not be surprised if Joey goes somewhere else.  He is more of a stretch 4, can shoot the 3.  Much different looking player then the
above mentioned players.  Much more like Crowder and Lazar in the sense he can step out and shoot it.

I'll be honest, if Joey looks at our roster and goes elsewhere because he's afraid to compete with John, Eke, and possibly Tillman four minutes, then good riddance.

Something tells me Joey will have the confidence that he can play anywhere. I don't think anyone we land will drive him elsewhere.

How many 6'8 2 guards do,you see in college basketball? It isn't just about shooting.....you have to be able to guard the position and make plays off the dribble.

Bailey is a skilled kid......no way to know what his body will look like in 2 or 3 years.

This kid has big size and upside. Xavier may be filling out their dance card. Could move Levi Stockard back in our direction.

Some people are getting too caught up in positions.  Sam Hauser can shoot like a 2 but Chick reported from the Chicago function he's 6-7.5 and 235.  That's big enough to play the stretch 4.  Heck, that's big enough to be a mini 5 in the Lazar Hayward/Jae Crowder/Jamil Wilson mold.

Howard and Rowsey are PG size but can also play off the ball.  They could play together.  Either could play with Carter.  Wojo would have to scheme for the height deficiency on defense but a zone or press could solve that.

Players like Cheatham, Anim, Cohen, and Cain could mix and match at the 2/3/4.  A little small but zone, press, matching up with stretch 4's or 4 guard lineups...lots of options...as long as they can defend and rebound.

Acquire talent with versatility and let the cream rise to the top.

Looking forward, here's how I break down next year's roster (barring attrition):

Small Guards (5-10 to 6-2)

Rowsey
Howard
Carter
Wilson

Switchables (6-5 to 6-7)

Cheatham
Anim
Cain
Cohen
Hauser

Bigs (6-8 to 6-10)
Eke
John
Heldt

One more big for this recruiting class would balance out the roster.  Tillman is my top choice.  We could use his low post scoring at either the 4 in a big lineup or the 5 in a small lineup.  French, Stockard, and Epperson are still in play but many people have said Epperson looks to be waiting until spring.

I'd rank them Tillman, then French, then Stockard for the fall.  I wouldn't object to Nwora either since you can never have too many good shooters.  Not a huge need based on roster composition but he's a talent.

For 2018, I have to see how many spots we have.  I prefer 3 and think the coaching staff will take at least that many.  More if there is attrition.  So at least Bailey, a guard, and BPA.  Joey Hauser and Race Thompson are at the top of that list.  Ideally Wojo lands a big PG that can also play the 2.  Someone in the 6-2 or 6-3 range.  Maybe even two guards if Wojo misses on both Hauser and Thompson (or if there ends up being 4 spots).  Maybe even Bailey, Hauser, Thompson and a guard.  Depends how things shake out.

From Michigan State Board regarding Tillman....

Did you really just go post comments about X and his girlfriend on the MSU board and then provide a link to that thread here?

So bizarre.

I think our coaching staff has done a very good job and have put our best foot forward on the Tillman recruit. In this social media age, the family has communicated their full scope of requirements publicly and we are doing our best to address them. I hope we sign Xavier.

If by "travel in strange pairs" you mean "are the exact same person", then I agree with this analysis.  ;D
