If you're like me and all your spring TV series just ended, plus basketball is down to 1 night a week and there is no football going on, you're bored and not watching a whole lot of television.  So I'm watching some relatively recent highlights of signees, commits, and who I hope will also commit.  Feel free to join me in the excitement that is the offseason.

Hauser:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dO1-KkzTTr8
His shooting will be nice to have.  Always in control of what he's doing.

Coffey:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2NrdflUHMI
Really like him.  Smooth.  Slashes.  While it's just a highlight film, I like that even in an open gym type setting instead of gloating about dunking on someone he puts his head down and runs back on D.  He would be an outstanding guy to have on the wing alongside Hauser.  They would compliment each other with some good height on the wings.

Anim:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ur39jNMeTLI
Finishes well around the rim and isn't afraid to take it into bigger defenders.  Shot starts too low but is fluid and 1 motion, so that can be fixed easier than a herky-jerky shot.  Competitor and will have a role right away as a defender.

Haniif:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSBdGysxULE
2 thoughts:  Smooth.  In control.

Kostas:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWPCyRNf6oQ
A project but certainly worth it if you can get him, especially if we don't land Coffey.

Hank:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMQ_6BrrBPg
He's real.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6HeN1hHvNc
Big boy.  Good fundamentals and especially footwork.  He's going to be the kind of guy who opponent's fans say, "How is he so good?"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBT3CqS5C20
Little but quick and shifty.  Like the mid range game from a point guard.  Seems like a competitor.

Overall these guys seem to be more skilled basketball players than the guys Wojo brought in.  We will have some shooters and some size on the wings.  Every one of them (with the exception of Kostas) seem to be very in control of what they're doing on the court.  Hopefully Wojo can get them to play as hard as Buzz was able to get his guys to play.

My brother and family from Minnesota was home last weekend for a family funeral.  My niece plays basketball in middle school so my brother said he ended up going to watch the Minnesota high school championship games.  He said Sacar was clearly the best player on the court for the games he watched and was excited he was headed to Marquette.

We will find a scholarship for Coffey if he wants to come to MU. I was impressed with him. Nothing to be said about HE as is a very skilled big man which we have not had in quite some time (in regards to his versatility - a stud)...and even though they are all highlight tapes, I was also impressed with hausers shot. Doesn't seem to ever touch the rim. Haanif is so smooth and almost looks like he isn't trying out there. I think he has better athleticism than people give him credit for but I think I could say that about all of the guys because their all around skill set is superior and basketball iq seems to be above par vs what he have recruited in the past few years. Not saying it is better or worse but I am liking the quality of recruits that we are getting and I definitely feel if we sprinkle in some rebounders and athletic types that we are going to see some very good MU basketball in the next few years. Sacar, Traci, and Matt are also going to be huge pieces of the puzzle going forward. I think Traci has been underrated nationwide and feel he is going to really surprise some people.

Hauser's jump shot looks like a 0.5-.75x speed playback of Novak.

I think Wally could be that player.

I'm really excited about Sacar.  His tape reminds me of a few of my past favorite MU players.

What I find impressive about Hauser is he is making shots off of movement and dribbling to get his shot.  Time will tell if that continues next year once he gets to college, but as much as I loved Novak the first year especially he was basically a stand still shooter.

The first minute of that Carter video gets me so excited for next year and beyond. Whenever a defender disrespected him by sagging, he popped a jumper in their eye. He capped it off by slicing through the lane to finish in traffic then immediately hunting down the ball on the fast break and swatting the shot from behind. He did it all in one fluid brain motion too, seamless transition from attack mode on offense to relentless hound on defense. He's going to make a big impact on the program, can't wait to watch him run this team next year.

I think Heldt would be better off redshirting year one while he hits the weight room. He's going to get pushed around if he plays at all in year one.

The thing I'm most excited about is all of the 2015 recruits seem to have the ability to score at all three levels. We haven't had players like that at all the past two years.

I would agree.  But, MU has limited front court depth.

This is an insane class. You have Henry the superstar complemented by four other players that look like they can not only make contributions day 1, but be the core of a great team as upperclassmen. Wojo can ride this wave to a ton of success if all goes right.

I think Heldt is gonna do big things in his time at MU. He has very good coordination for a big man and a nice touch around the basket; he doesn't seem too slow either, in terms of big guys.

The rest of the class looks pretty great too, I can't wait to see them on the court.

**I agree that the Cheatham highlight video was a little rough to take in, wowza...

We'll need him to backup at both the four and five.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Thanks for putting this together.  It was soon fun to watch.  Wojo's recruiting is outstanding!  I don't ever remember a more talented recruiting class.  This group has good size, great shooting ability and high basketball acumen.  My expectations for next season are higher than ever!
