Meme Tournament Brackets revealed
« on: May 04, 2015, 09:33:27 AM »
The brackets are ready to go assuming no catastrophic changes in the play-in game voting.  The first bracket up this afternoon will be the changing coaches region.  Enjoy

Don't mean to be a party pooper, but am I only one that thinks this is sort of lame? Do we really need to do one of these each year? How much could it have changed in a mere 12 months of overly unexciting MU basketball.

I get it is a long off season with plenty of time to kill, I guess I just don't get the need for another one of these.

But maybe it is just me...who knows. Moving along...
I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

You're a party pooper.   It is a dead period, basketball-wise, and somebody went to all of the trouble to put something light hearted and amusing together.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

Fair enough.  I am certainly not discounting the hard work MUENG puts in on this.  I think I am just salty that every time I log in here I hope to see a "___ Grad Transfer Commits to MU" and have been left disappointed like 100 times in a row.

Enjoy the tournament, fellas!

May I suggest a play-in tourney ...

(I don't think I saw these listed)

"____ will be fine"
vs
"next man up"

"Superbar"
vs
"I'm really a badger fan"

And one more trying to get in ...

Honestly, if people don't want the tournament that's fine doesn't really both me any.  It's fun putting it together and makes me chuckle so it's not really wasted work.

You'd be surprised, I think at least 12 new memes made the tournament this year and there were a couple that made a real late push that could have been included but I didn't catch them in time.

Just trying to make the summer doldrums pass a little faster.  Also there have been some good suggestions and one or two items I might have overlooked.....if we do this annually and someone wants to help out I'm more than happy to have them on-board.  Volunteers are always welcome.  ;D

Can we put "party pooper" on the early watch list for next year?

Where is "Diamond Stone should come to Marquette"?  Felt like every few weeks someone would post that MU and Stone are a great match and Wojo should recruit Diamond/Diamond should commit to MU.  Even though there was no mutual interest for months people would still post these threads.

Yeah that was a major oversite by the committee and something I really regret.  We'll have to adjust the algorithm for next year.

Same algorithm that was used for the Awards Banquet?

But Teve didn't play any strong out of conference memes.

Teve's OOC SOM was weak.

(out of conference strength of memes)

Teve failed to win it's meme conference tourney.  When you're a mid-major meme and don't take care of business you are at the mercy of the committee.

Just heard a rumor that Teve is trying to add Done Deal and Derrick to its OOC schedule next year.  Smart move.

The good news is that Teve automatically qualifies for the Meme NIT.
