Protests by MU students today
« on: April 27, 2015, 09:11:47 PM »
http://fox6now.com/2015/04/27/developing-protest-on-mu-campus-moves-to-county-jail-after-four-demonstrators-arrested/

"Students say they want to increase diversity on campus, expand the core curriculum to include more diversity courses and change the Marquette University seal, which they say shows a biased relationship between Marquette and native people. Among their other demands, these students are calling for an end to the racial profiling they feel is happening on campus, and more diversity within the police force."

Is anyone else dumbfounded by this?

EDIT: Mods I realized I didn't post this in the Superbar, feel free to move it.

The public will for sure empathize with these students who go to university where tuition is around 50k.

Is it Mr. Jiggles Weekend or are we passed that point already in the Marquette calendar?
Come on, really?

Eh.

It's a silly protest but a lot of kids protest silly things in college.  Some of the people who did this kind of stuff when I was at Marquette with are now very successful.

I saw them on TV last night. Same people that brought their sign in for National Marquette Day at the Bradley Center. They should be kicked out of school.

I remember when Tom Hayden and Jane Fonda spoke at the Varsity. Hayden was actually interesting but Hanoi Jane was shrill, condescending, and not particularly smart. She concluded her talk by insulting the audience...referring to us as "an unusual group..."

She is a real piece of sh1t...

That was so jarring, just confused people as opposed to raising awareness.  I'm sure they'll become professional agitators.

That would be silly because it would bring more attention to them than they deserve.

True. They push the buttons but not far enough to be a felony.
