Damion Lee Decision
« on: April 23, 2015, 12:51:31 PM »
OK, I was disappointed he went to Loserville, but not surprised.

We look at it from our perspective. With him, we're an instant NCAA team and could make a Sweet 16 run.

Without him, we have a whale of a freshman class, good but small group of returnees and are overtly a bubble team for the NCAA with a lot of unknowns.

Now look at it from his perspective. At MU, he's on a largely unproven team with lots of raw talent that may some day move Marquette into the elite of College Basketball.

At Loserville, he's playing for a proven coach on a proven team with a near-guarantee to make serious damage in the NCAA tournament next year. He's a one year player so short of going to Duke or Kentucky, this is best for him.

Yes, he'd better off a Warrior but he doesn't see things the way we do.

We were definitely a long shot in that group of finalists.  Like almost every other school aside from Kentucky, we are going to miss on more top notch recruits than we will get.  Good effort, but we'll move on.

And somehow I'm confident that Wojo recognized that Lee was a 'wish list' guy.  Trusting he has other plans already developed.
