Math Says MU will beat DePaul & a recap of the SJU disaster
« on: March 06, 2015, 03:04:35 PM »
Among the game of basketball’s undeniable truths, right between “When your school hires John Calipari, you will face NCAA sanctions at some point” and “According to the Jordan/Bryant school of sports terminology, it’s ‘game of basketball’ and never just ‘basketball,’” is the fact that shooting gets easier the closer you get to the basket. As a result, your goal should be to reduce the distance between you and it before attempting a shot.

Marquette and St. John’s crapped all over that one Wednesday night... https://misix.com/a-rim-too-far-for-marquette

If MU wins, hopefully Creighton does too!
I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

I'm pulling for us and Xavier. As appealing as the 7/10 game is, I really want to beat DePaul and see 7 Big East teams get into the Dance. That means Xavier needs to win, and if we're going to the Tourney, we will have to beat 'Nova at some point anyway ;D

  • I prefer a team that's eligible, not paid for

Nah, that upset is for someone else to accomplish who we then beat.

Right now the Team Rankings website gives us the seventh best chance to make the semifinals at 13.79%.  Trailing us (all at less than 10% are Seton Hall, Creighton and DePaul.  Strangely enough, Seton Hall has the better chance to win it all at .71% to our .62%.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

So we would win the BET more than 1 in every 200 times? Sign me up.

I think he was implying he wants US to WIN the BE tournament.  That and a win for Xavier against Creighton gets the BE 7.

I obviously don't want to lose to DePaul, but I'd rather CU win. X is in either way. We have virtually no chance, but i like or chances better with the 10.
