Marquette clobbers OK State 91-61

Just like the game against Detroit last year - hopefully that answers a few questions about whether we can be dominant  ;)

Wow!  I don't think I've seen them play that well maybe since Duke last year.  Can't expect them to shoot the 3 like that every night but they can play defense like that every night and if they do they will have a chance to win every game on the schedule.  Fun to watch

Crean:

Team learned what they are capable of .. fooling around is over

Not ready to find bad things about tonight's game .. just want to prepare to win a championship.

Got mad at Tommy Brice for back-tipping a guy (?) (kidding)

Ooze has had 19 rebs in 2 games.  Burke needs to step up tomorrow.

DJ got our Mo going making shots .. when he's attacking, no one is better at that level.  Need to figure out a way to make himself play at that level all the time.

43-28 reb edge.  Excited about the win.

No. 11 Marquette Routs Oklahoma State, 91-61

Marquette defended and hustled its way into the championship game of the EA Sports Maui Invitational. Jerel McNeal had 20 points and Dominic James added 18 to lead the 11th-ranked Golden Eagles in a never-in-doubt 91-61 semifinal victory over Oklahoma State on Tuesday night.

With that kind of on the ball defensive pressure can you imagine adding a player like Mbakwe into the mix where he has length, can sky, swat the ball and run real well for a big man?

It would be nice, but he'll get his chance next year.  Most of that quickness is going to be back, maybe even all of it.

absolutely stunning performance. Everyone was amazing. Shot the lights out; nice to see Fitz drain that first one from the corner. Defense overplays a little too much for my taste, but man were they all over OSU. Let's hope we can kick some Dukie butt tomorrow. Congrats, guys.

It was great to see the number of points we had off turnovers and also the fact that we had five players in double digits.  What a good night!

Right on...12 more steals today (would have had more if the refs didn't start imagining some calls).  Great ball pressure.  OKla. St. couldn't even get into their offensive sets due to our quickness.  TC had a great guard sub rotation today.  Spacing on offense was excellent.  It was obvious they have working on that and it showed in our shooting %.  McNeal is playing like a first team AA, and DJ not too far behind.  Loved seeing Fitz go off today...10 points in 10 minutes....Mo too.
