Ah, I missed that.  Anyone have a link?

So I lied. It wasn't anything official said by Wojo just speculation. But here's the thread.

I thought this was a whole scoop preseason thread. Wojo said it wasn't a part of Marquette's actual colors. Wojo is big into the MU tradition.

As best I can tell, I think this is a Scoop fiction.

Started here:

I don't think Wojo likes teams that wear baby blues

Then picked up in this thread:  http://www.muscoop.com/index.php?topic=44980.0

I realize that many, many teams now utilize similar designs, but I still love the look of our uniforms, especially the baby blues and the golds. Thought I heard on here that Wojo was anti-baby blue or something as it is too close in color or reminded him of the Tar Heels but I that could have been BS. (don't remember seeing teal and of course everything on Scoop is absolute fact ;))  Would be cool for them to bust out some retros/throwbacks for some games especially considering our extensive cutting-edge, uniform legacy.

Now, if someone can demonstrate otherwise (might have missed something), I'd love to hear it--otherwise, from my quick detective work, it looks to me like a tongue-in-cheek post was subsequently remembered as rumor, which then got passed forward into this thread.

Yup, thanks.  I was just really surprised that Wojo would take a stand on something like that, at least anymore than joking around himself.  Certainly not to the point of opposing us wearing them, which has been part of MU tradition.

Neither is white, but we wear those all the time.

My source told me he (Wojo) said no Carolina colors.  He was wrong.

Count me in the group that hates the baby blues.  My hatred is not based on superstition, but on the visual assault they commit on my eyes.

Speaking of uniforms, does anyone know when we will get a redesign?  I feel like we've had this version for quite some time, and the look (particularly the piping on the side) is getting tired.

I still like the piping but agree that it mot be a little tired and too many teams have adopted a similar pattern - even at the high school level.

P.S. Is it really called "valor blue"'

With many schools having Nike, Reebok and adidas design ridiculous alternate unis, perhaps it's best to stick with what we have.

I'm with you on this.
