Samaritan Hospital
« on: November 21, 2014, 08:05:53 AM »
As most of you know Marquette is located next to a hospital called Sinai-Samaritan hopsital which is the 900 block of 12th Street.   When i was going to Marquette their was an old abandoned hospital on the 2100 block of Kilbourn that was being converted to the Milwaukee academy of Sciences.   For those of you who do not know what I am talking about, it is a fairly large compound between 21st and 23rd street on the east and west.  And bordering Kilbourn and State from north to south.

My question is, when did the split between Sinai and Samaritan hospital occur,  any other insight would be appreciated.   This is not for a project, just out of curioisity

Thanks for the help, but I was looking for what year it was when Samaritan stopped admitting patients.  I know after the merger it was still in use for outpatient I assume, but when did the building become essentially abandoned?

I went to MU in 2000-2004 and i vaguely remember it still being used?  but like i said it is a vague memory.

Pretty sure it was already a school by 2000.
