If Derrick starts burying 3's in games I'm gunna start throwing pigs off of roofs.

LOL -- Maybe Coach Wojo took outr advice seriously and had Derrick shoot 5,000 shots a day.

Seriously, I think Marquette is going to surprise A LOT of people this year. I'm still worried about Jujuan but overall, things are looking up!

Neither Ners nor anyone else was cheering against Derrick. I think Ners, like a lot of others, would be very happy to see Derrick improve his willingness and ability to shoot improve to the point that he can at least hold defenses honest.

Chill man I wasn't saying that anyone was cheering against derrick.  I was saying that derrick shooting in general would give him a heart attack.

This has to be one of the best JS write ups on Marquette basketball in a long time.  Some really good, detailed coverage of what happened and I like that he's not afraid to interject some of his own opinions on why things were done a certain way and how the players are progressing.

Did all this run in the paper? If so, that's almost Packers coverage from the JS. Excellent reporting job.

Digital only, but it's a start.

This is a great start.

It's exactly what we were calling for with Hunt.

Just spend an hour in practice, take some notes. Boom. Blog.

Like it or not, that's how media coverage works now.

I'd love for Matt to continue the good work, and maybe one of the radio stations in town could eventually use him as a "Marquette insider" when applicable.

Matt V.  If you follow this board (and of course, you should) thanks much for the excellent coverage so far.  You are a welcome addition.  Looking forward to more stuff like this.  Very well done!   ;D

Glad to hear that they aren't dividing the players up defensively, as our smalls are going to have to guard bigs at some point.    Also like that they are being coached to press after every made basket.    Injuries are going to be an area of concern this year.    1-2 to the wrong player at the wrong time and the season could go sideways.
