Whoa.  Dayton down at 116.

Whoa, they really did get a bump in recruiting after that tournament run.

Michigan isn't on the list, must have no seniors or likely early NBA entrants on this year's team. IU checking in at #80, 13th in the Big 10. Only year 7 though - gonna take some time.

As an example that this projection is not fully accurrate, here are some notable teams that are currently projected as getting a 0 as a final score.

North Carolina State
Texas Tech
Seton Hall
Michigan
Colorado
BYU

Do I really believe that the likes of Michigan and NC State will sign only 2 stars or less? No. But that's where things stand right now.

There is something especially funny about that.  I guess I still have trouble getting used to the expansion of the Big Ten.
Have some patience, FFS.

Yeah, THAT'S what is especially funny about that.   ::)

I don't see this class being a top 5, but we'll see.  That's assuming also that all of these kids make it to Marquette to play.

What leads you to think any of Wojo's recruits won't make it to campus?

Sam Dekker was a RSCI 19.  He joins a few in that group not already in The League earning big money.  With Butch taking up five years for a cup of java while his backup has made it, you think Mr. Stone hasn't taken note about Bo's next level development skills, I'm really a badger fan.

This. Hanner had a good article last season about coaches playing freshmen. Buzz and Bo were on the bottom of the list.  I think Bo is a good coach, but if you want to play right away to get to the next level, Madison isn't the place for you.

I believe that the point of the thread was that the original poster investigated and found out that even with Ellenson, this class can not make the top five.  Still it's nothing anyone around here will complain about.

jakeec is one of those posters who thinks he knows more than he really knows.  His comment about Marquette's recruiting class might be in retaliation for being totally upstaged on BadgerNation yesterday.  People tend to forget that there are people who know more than they do and in jakeec's case, there are people who know way more than he does and it isn't close.

One important thing to note. It is impossible to get a score higher than 52.55. So Kentucky's 52.39 is about as close to perfect as possible.

Conference ranking updates. Big East took a significant hit because one of our teams *cough*St. John's*cough* went from being favored to land a 5 star, to being favored to score a goose egg. Butler also lost out on Derrick Smits, one of their top targets, to....Valpo. With St. John's and Seton Hall dragging us down, the BEast is toward the lower end of the power conferences. Fortunately, there is still a huge gap between the top 7 and the MWC. And even bigger drop from the MWC to the other conferences.

I assume that when your averaging a conferences rankings, you are not including schools not on your list, so that they are no zeros averaged in for those schools.  Correct?

It looks like there is still some life in the St. Johns recruiting process. It would be good for the Big East if they could pick up one or more of the kids they had in for their midnight madness.

They had a great lineup at madness, but I feel like St. John's always does this. They spend all their time recruiting 5 stars that they have little chance at landing. The only 5 star they have landed since Levin has been there is (correct me if I'm wrong) Rysheed Jordan in 2013. I really don't see Briscoe, Diallo, or Sampson ending up with SJU. Then they will be left scrambling for recruits...just like 2014.

They clearly don't understand the bright lights of Lavinwood.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Maybe I spoke too soon. Jerry Meyer just switched his pick for Briscoe to SJU. He's one of the few I actually trust.
