NBA player banners at the Al
« on: September 14, 2014, 09:40:47 AM »
Saw a twitter picture of Jabari Parker visiting the Al and there is a banner in the background that says 56 NBA draft picks. I know these are for recruiting but one of the banners after it is of Wes Matthews, who went undrafted. Is this an oversight or should the first banner just say 56 in NBA, not drafted.

I agree that's definitely the impression it presents.  Move it to another location away from the players, or don't put that banner in line with the player banners.  Fixed.

Or change it to say "NBA players", instead of NBA draft picks.

[Edited]  Probably not a good idea, as "# of draft picks" is greater in quantity than "# NBA players".  Bad idea upon further review.  Never mind.

All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

The banner just references the # of draft picks Marquette has had in its history.

Wes is a current player so he gets his own banner...no connection to the draft picks banner.

Though, if a recruit doesn't do their HW or know Wessy wasn't drafted, then even more power to have those two banners near each other.

Exactly.  There is no problem here.

Looking at the banners, the only problem I have with them is they're not in order of year they started in the NBA.

We got lucky that the bucks drafted parker. Could be a great recruiting asset going forward.  (Ps think any duke fans are pissed Jabari is hanging out at Marquette like when we get our panties in a bunch with Crean and wade?)

No, because their head coach didn't leave Duke to come to Marquette and basically say Marquette can't hang with Indiana (and follow it up by going 6 years without ever taking Indiana further than Marquette went in any given year).

Also, DWade doesn't live in Bloomington.
Have some patience, FFS.

Also Duke fans are probably a little concerned about that than Marquette fans.  Wade is the greatest player to play at Marquette.  Jabari is simply one of many very good ones to play at Duke, and there will be many others to follow.

and jabari was there(duke) all of one year- a significant one, but barely a cup of coffee.  hard to leave much of a legacy with these one and done guys unless they win the big one

Always found a buddy down the hall with a pair of clippers and hope he used them exclusively for head hair.
