Traditional is different.  Always liked the 2001-2003 home version. Very Duke like.

Does Dook have names on the back of the jersey?  Not sure if they stitch them on later or just aren't doing names on the back of the jersey, but there were no names on the jersey in this video that MUTV put out today...

With the amount of transfers Buzz would have before the season even started, I'm guessing it's just university policy to hold off on the names as long as possible to save on expenses.

Great idea. And instead of Air Jordans we should switch to Sperry Topsiders. We could have taken to the aircraft carrier deck with a vengeance with those while Ohio would have been slip sliding all over the place.

As I recall the NCAA outlawed the Bumblebees.  So I agree with you that they indeed, did not like, the Bumblebees.

But the NCAA is losing power.  Maybe we can engage in some brinksmanship with them.  Say, bring back the Bumblebees and accuse the NCAA of sexism / racism / homophobism if they give us any grief.

I believe the reason they were outlawed was the refs said it was too hard to read the uniform numbers with that design.

I just don't want unis that say Golden Eagles instead of Marquette.

Oh, no,here comes another of "my brand of crazy" thoughts....Was it Public Enemy and Chuck D who wrote, "My 98 Oldsmobile?" Model #, not Year. Since MU is sure to up the tempo a bit, would it  behoove our game day experience dj to honor the 98th season of Warrior hoops with a little ChuckD noise??...."smoke is comin' ...when I buuurn.. rubber when my wheeeels turn."

Banning the bumblebee uniform was the worst ever documented case of insect intolerant speciesism.  Every time I hear of the declining population of honey bees in North America, I look for the hand of the NCAA.

I disagree, there's a reason why teams all over the country have copied our uniform.

Jordan is still the premier brand in basketball. Plus now that Jimmy MF Butler is signed up with Jordan that we should stick with the brand.

I'm hesitant to start advocating for a uni change because there's always a chance that we'll end up with a dud. Though looking back through history I would say that we haven't had any duds.

When it originally came out it was in collaboration between Crean/Marquette and Converse. Jordan Brand wasn't even involved yet. It was a spin off of the look from our unis from 71 to 74: http://wiki.muscoop.com/lib/exe/detail.php/the_marquette_jersey_project/7174road.jpg?id=the_marquette_jersey_project%3Astart

There's a reason that everyone copied the look. It's because it was the freshest uni when it came out. It's just getting a little stale now.

Traditional is different.  Always liked the 2001-2003 home version. Very Duke like.

NO. If we are going to make a change, it should be to something unique and trend-setting again. I don't want to be Duke. I want to be Marquette.

I honestly feel that the baby blues are amongst the best looking uniforms in all of sports and even if they do change it up hope they are kept as an alternate

Same!

It's really too bad that these days you pretty much need to go with a major company. For the most part, it's adidas, Nike, Under Armour, or nothing, and with the advent of AAU all of your recruiting is tied to which brand that is. Al's partnership with local distributors in the 1970s allowed us to have the freedom we did and led to some of the coolest designs CBB ever witnessed. You just can't do that anymore.

Juan Anderson designed the uniforms his high school team used and modeled them on Marquette. I always wished he would have had the chance to design a uniform here. Unfortunately, as the shoe companies have more influence, uniforms have become more, well, uniform. Even when we see new, different uniforms, it's not just one team wearing them, it's the 5-6 flagship schools for the brand.

The only way to stand out is if your biggest booster runs one of the shoe companies (cough, Oregon, cough). Otherwise, it's pretty much just fall in line.

Nothing beats the Bumblebee psychedelic uniforms that hallucinated the opponents into submission. A close second would be Belushi on SNL with his bumblebee costume.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind.

Totally agree.  Love the baby blues!

Maybe it's time we do what the NBA is doing:

I am definitely not a fan of when teams wear those jerseys. Louisville can keep 'em.

As long as we aren't going the direction of their "Hare Jordan" line. That shizz is ridiculous.

crazy shoes are ok by me.  A jersey like that would not be cool though.

If something like that was the side trim instead of the strips I'd like it.
