How Diamond Stone Got His Name

Basketball player has rock-solid skills, name
Steve Jones, swjones1@courier-journal.com 10:59 a.m. EDT July 28, 2014

http://www.courier-journal.com/story/sports/recruiting/2014/07/28/prep-basketball-star-diamond-stone-rock-solid-skills-name/13261583/

Diamond Stone is a gem of a player with a gem of a name. Even if you haven't seen the big, skilled center from Milwaukee on the court — he's ranked No. 1 by Scout.com and is being recruited by Kentucky and many others — you probably have heard or read Diamond Stone's geological-sounding name.

So where did that name come from? His father — the more commonly named Bob Stone — said that "Diamond Stone" (with no pun intended) "just had a nice ring to it."

"It just sounded good," the elder Stone said. "… His mother wanted 'Trey,' and I wanted 'Diamond.' And it just had a nice ring to it. Some people say it's the best name in sports. …

"A lot of people say it's an effeminate name, and I would just tell them that a diamond is the hardest rock on the planet. You cut other rocks with diamonds. They put diamonds in drills to cut other rocks."

Sounds familiar....

According to E!'s unnamed source, West and Kardashian "look at her as being their highest point together," says a source. "Nothing is more special than North. Kim keeps saying, 'She is our North Star.' "

Well if Tuesday Weld (actress) married Rick Monday (ballplayer) she would be Mrs. Tuesday Monday.

Well if Bobby Brown,  Skid Row and Richard Marx got together for an 80s reunion tour they could call it the Brown Skid Marx tour.

I like timeless, traditional names. ZFB's cult did a great job when naming ZFB "Betty"
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

By the time she hits 13, Kim will be saying, "We should have named you East West."
