Appendicitis....sounds like he is doing well, but anyone that has gone through it can tell you it isn't the most fun thing in the world.

Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

Spoke to him earlier.  After performing the apendectomy on himself with only his two hands and a steak knife, he then turned down the advances of two nurses, saved a kitten from a tree outside the ER, and went for an 8K run with Chuck Norris and Trevor Mbawke.

Badass.

He's home now and recovering.

I heard he stopped for a bowl...and a half, of Real Chili on the way home.  With extra onions.

Rest up, Hilltop! It's good to hear you're recovering well.

Here's an idea of what you can do while in bed:

Thanks for the thoughts, boys.  I thought it was something I ate, but after a sleepless night, went in for a check.  Some delicious barium drinks later, they wheeled me into the ER on Saturday .. home <24 hours later minus an appendix.  Modern technology.

I think I'll take tomorrow off, though.

Surreal experience.

Has your diet changed as a result of no gall bladder, Chicos?

Those Barium drinks really get you on the way down.

I feel for you hilltopper. I got to experience the joys of appendicitis....on my 21st birthday. Thought it was the alcohol. Went in to get my stomach pumped, but they luckily checked to make sure it wasn't appendicitis first.

Glad to hear you are doing alright

Yeah, I'd like to know how it affected your diet as well.

Yeah, I'd like to know how it affected your diet as well.

My fiancee got her gallbladder out.

Its really strange, certain foods she can just no longer eat. And its not necessarily the ones you'd expect like greasy or fatty foods. Avocados, for example, just do not sit well with her.

I've heard losing your gallbladder affects everyone a little differently, but you generally have to refrain from more foods that you previously could eat, or face stomach pain, indigestion, or worse...

Whoa, whoa whoa people.  This thread isn't about gall bladders or girlfriends or diets or goddamn avocados!  It's about me, and how sad you'd be if I'd have been smothered by a nurse or something.

Get with the program!

What about this?

That's kind of nursing.

I am happy to hear you have recovered Hilltopper.

I have no experience with an appendix problem.  Now if you have questions about kidney stones, that I unfortunately have a great deal of experience with, but let's not digress from this thread about you!

Just waiting on Ners to bring this thread to Derrick Wilson and then someone to mention Nazis for the cherry topper.

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.
