Sounds like it's us our cal. Don't think he would commit without an official visit. Hopefully it's us

Hopefully Northwestern beats the craps outta Cal today. Not that it's gonna make a difference with Cheatham but I just want NU to win  :P

Good news because he's do this right after he visits us.

Pines Charter's Cheatham to announce college choice Sept. 5

Pembroke Pines Charter boys basketball standout Haanif Cheatham will take his final official visit to Marquette this weekend and announce his college choice next Friday.

Cheatham, a 6-foot-5, 175-pound senior rated the state’s fifth-best, and nation’s 31st best, shooting guard by ESPN.com, told the Sun Sentinel on Tuesday that his finalists are Marquette, Georgetown, Cal, Baylor, Florida State and Georgia. He will verbally commit at a ceremony at his school.

The athletic, left-handed swingman averaged 26.2 points, eight rebounds and 10 rebounds per game last season for Pines Charter as a first team All-Broward County selection last season.

He had some of his best performances against state ranked teams Blanche Ely (30 points, 11 rebounds, five assists), Boyd Anderson (24 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists) and McArthur (28 points, seven rebounds, five assists). He scored a season-high 35 against Flanagan.

Cheatham visited Cal this past weekend. Earlier this month, he participated for USA’s South roster in the Nike Global Challenge in Chicago. The event features the top high school players across the country playing against international competition.  Cheatham posted 15 points, four rebounds and four steals against China.

Has anyone ever committed to us at a ceremony before? That would be really sweet!

Not to be a downer, but I really don't like our chances. He is Florida kid, and all but two of his choices are warm weather schools. We never seem to have luck in those situations. Unless he has really established a connnection with WoJo, I would suspect we're only on his list out of gratitude for going after him so hard. Let's hope I'm wrong!

John Dawson, JaJuan Johnson, Juan Anderson, Davante Gardner, DJO, Jamail Jones, Jae Crowder, Jimmy Butler, Erik Williams, Joe Fulce all since the 2010-2011 season fit that bill.

Screw the weather the games are indoors anyways. Is a 15 degree day with a 3 inch pretty carpet of snow thorugh out the parks really much worse than a 110 degree 90% humidty day in southern CAL?

He only took visits to Cal and Marquette. You ever been to Berkeley? Not exactly what I would call warm weather.

Does get chilly with the fog.  But average monthly highs for Berkeley range from 56 to 72 with the average lowest monthly low of 44 I winter.

What part of SoCal are you going to?  Staying inland in the desert or what?  SoCal is 75 and sunny with very little humidity for about 95% of the year.  But Cal isn't in SoCal anyways.

4:13 PM - 29 Aug 2014

Would be a huge get for Wojo/MU!

Note: I've been trying to attach a picture with HC, his mom & Wojo but I keep getting an error message.  I've done this before with no problems.

Couple of reasons based off his twitter why I think he chooses MU. Didno send nearly as nice of a tweet about cal and tweeted happy bday to Nick. I dunno, just a good feeling.

The Samurai Health Club in Barrio Baretto, Zamables, Republic of the Philippines offers, a "The Wind, The Rain, and The Lava" special for the American fighting man. As a health care professional Doc, I'm thinking they might cut you a deal as a professional courtesy.

Never spent anytime in Health Clubs in the Philippines the three R&R's I took there back in the 60's. Did visit Corregidor once while there--not a very healthy looking place. Many fond memories of Manila and the surrounding area.
